I've lived at a party house before...can never get any rest, and Sunday is his day of rest. He's at work all week long (6 days that seem like thousands of years a-piece) and he comes home to his house full of people singing and farting, with hardly a spot to sit! Infuriating! So he is usually out back smoking a J. with the groundskeeper when people visit.

What your saying is ignorance! The church is God's house, use some common sense God's not gonna come down and leave some slippers or a towel laying around. I don't no what kind of church you've been going to but when i go to church God's defiantly there every time, u can feel him and if your a child of God then he's always with you! God never leaves or forsakes you

Are you expecting God to look like you only much bigger? How about if I tell you "you are the church?" would you philosophically answer, you do not look like a temple or assembly hall? First, God created you in His image and He said that too to all His creations so, if you see me personally, then you might not agree because I can sense how beautiful you are ( or handsome just in case you are the opposite). His Image is not like you or me nor anybody else. The image He is talking about is His righteousness meaning He created us in His purpose....to be right all the time.
The place you have entered called church are just assembly halls for all the churches that goes in there. You are the church because in you resides the spirit of the one who created you, everyone and everything around you. To a painter, we are like his paintings whom the spirit and purpose of the artist is there in his work. The grace of air we breath, the food that nourishes us that come from every plants, animals, fowls and fishes, the water or liquids that quenches our thirst, the caring parents, brothers sisters, neighbors and friends, the days that keeps us moving about and evenings that we can put ourselves to rest and energzie ourselves are just but part of all his creations that we do not give notice so much about are the ways He thanks us for a simple song we offer Him at the temple we call church. I do not hear His thanks, I feel it and it is me who did not even noticed Him and so did you. Unless you are a believer, you will never understand what I just said. He is not a jerk. You also is not a jerk.

God is a spirit which means that you cannot see Him with natural sight but He can be felt. God manifests Himself through signs and wonders but one reason why He cannot be 'seen' or there's no evidence of Him in some churches is that room is not made for His presence. If the president said that he was going to visit your home, how much preparation would you put into it to make sure that everything would be suitable. If he entered your lawn and saw garbage and weeds and unpleasant things, would he proceed.
In order to witness the presence of God in churches, spiritual preparation (repentance, true worship, etc.) must be offered up. God bless!

I don't agree, because God is a wonderful God. He probably does say thank you, but since He's spirit, that's why we don't hear him. The cross hung over the altars of every church in the world proclaim that God IS there. God is everywhere. Of course you don't see him. It is not false teachings. The teachings bear true. Just look in the Bible. If you really want to be a Christian, ask him for forgiveness and eternal salvation with all your heart and soul. Then, gradually you will begin to feel, especially if you read the Bible, God's heavenly spiritual touch by peace coming over you. You'll know it when you feel it. Good luck.

Giant slippers, huge towels? What makes you think God is a giant? He's an immortal, perfected Man of flesh and bone.

The church is not a building, so it is no wonder you find nothing there when you look.
The church as defined by the bible is the people that have accepted God as their Lord and savior.
So, if you are looking for God or evidence that he is here, just look inside yourself into your heart, if he isnt there it is because you have not asked him in yet.
Read and reread your bible. Attend a worship service at a biblically doctrinal church of God. If mans word and the bible differ, then stick with the bible.
If you are truely looking for him, you will find him.

The problem lies in your definition of the church. You see, it is not a building, it is a group of people called believers. He lives inside them and they are the house of God or to use the Bible term, the "temple of God". The Bible says that God's spirit bears witness to our spirit, it is an internal thing, you can't see it and spirits don't wear slippers.

IT IS CALLED GOD'S HOUSE BECAUSE GODS PEOPLE ARE THERE TO WORSHIP HIM. IT IS A FIGURE OF SPEECH. YOU MAY NOT SEE SLIPPERS AND THE DIRTY TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM BUT HE IS THERE IN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE THERE. LOOK AROUND THE NEXT TIME YOU GO TO A CHURCH AND YOU WILL SEE MIRACLES ALL AROUND YOU. JUST FOR MANKIND TO SURVIVE SO LONG IS A MIRACLE, FOR PEOPLE TO DO RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS IS A SIGN HE IS THERE!!

God does not live in temples made by human hands. He lives in our hearts and soo those people did notice he was there when they sang to him coz he dwells in the temples of their hearts and speaks to their hearts directly.Try opening your heart next time!
And it is only a fool who makes fun of his maker!
