I'm with you! Buy the hair supplies that suit you that you can roll your hair when wet. Depending on the curl you want, depends on the way you curl you hair in the roller. If you want a spiral, then take a small lock of hair and twist it all the way down to the end. Then wrap it around the roller, (the size of the roller depends on the size of your curl. If you just want curly hair then just find the size roller you want the curl size to be. Wrap your hair in locks that suit your "hair do". I'm Asian all my perms and curls have fallen out FAST! Let your hair dry fully, don't be impatient. Add some mousse and comb it out with a hair pic. Scrunch and at least from my experiences, you'll look great.

got this from another site like yahoo answers hope it helps.
My friend has pretty straight hair, but she has no problem making it curly. All you have to do is take a shower and get your hair pretty wet. Towel off all the excess water and start scrunching it with scrunching gel. You could also use a mousse.. it works just *** well. Anyway, make sure you are scrunching toawrds the top of your head (so the top wont look flat and the rest be curly) Then, grab a blow dryer and dry your hair while scrunching it on the low setting

I use/luv' Redken Spray Starch #15 (Medium control, my hair is very thick and, long. Ya' may want to try the #16, for an even stronger hold???) - Heat memory styler spray thermo!!! Spray on dry, or damp hair, prior to/during using curling iron, etc. Does not build up in ya' hair either. Have to buy from either a state beauty suppy house (If ya' lucky enough to have ya' license), or at a pro salon.

Wash your hair a day or two before, I know this sounds horrible, but if your hair gets slightly greasy, in texture not look, then this helps a lot with keeping a hairstyle in place. People who do hair for brides will tell them not to wash their hair if they want a certain style and wouldn't get it if their hair was freshly washed.
Put your curlers in or whatever you are using, spray hairspray on your hair prior to and after. Not loads so your hair feels nasty, just enough.
I hope this is helpful.

You can always wet your hair and put rollers in it or wet it and braid it. Leave it like that until you are about to leave or until it dries. The longer you keep it in, the better your hair looks and the longer the curls stay.

Hi it will stay in better if you use but it in curlers or in a platte, also use a curling mousse when it is wet before you platte it, there are loads of curling products out there. But you have to let it dry on is own to sett. Also try a curl shampoo and conditioner, to perpare your hair.

You can either wet set it with lot-a-body setting lotion, using nickle size rollers, or you can use nickle size electric curlers (hot tools) spraying it first with spritz and then electric curling it. Set your curling iron on 6 or 7 if you use hot tools. You can buy these items in any beauty supply store.
