Face covering didn't come in the picture until about 200 years after the prophets death. It is not Sunnah, just something a leader invented to oppress women. .. Islam is just going through the medieval period right now. It has several years before it becomes a democracy like America (Except for Dubai, its already awesome). Every nation has to go through the process. If one researched Christian History, they would see indisputable similarities. It going to take a while before the Muslim world goes by the Quran, Just as it took Europe to implement the Bible and support literacy and self pursued religious education.

Some Muslims wear burkas, some wear veils, it really depends on your particular beliefs. They are worn because the woman is Muslim not because she "belongs" to anyone. However hell would freeze over before I'd wear a burka, if nothing else it has to be hot under there.
So no you can't get away with wearing a "mask".

the only thing a women who is a muslim wear is a Jilbab or Abaya and aHijab tor anythign that followers the Islamic Dress code. it is not Fard to Wear Niqab
