I just had the D & C procedure and for those of you who know it, know you cannot have sex for one to two weeks afterwards or until you see your doctor. So my husband and I have been experimenting with different ways of fulfilling sex. We have been having anal sex and one time I felt alittle cramp and I just want to know will the penis affect a sensitive cervix area at all? I am clueless as to how close everything is to each other.

Additional: I have been kept from sex for two months actually due to the conflicting situation on whether I was pregnant or not. So it has not just been two weeks. My husband has actually been quite helpful and understanding - but it's also hard as we just got married 2 months ago. We discovered during our honeymoon that we could no longer have sex due to concerns and have been that way ever since. It is not impatience - It is finding other ways to be with each other. I am simply asking if it is a problem. Thank You.

I think that anal sex should be safe. I don't think that it was the penetration that made you cramp but the movement or it could have been your muscles contracting. You should check with your doctor just to be sure.

First off, ask a doctor. Don't take any of our advice, even if we claim to be doctors.
Secondly, anal sex does in fact put pressure on the cervix (and the whole pelvic region), very much in the same way a strained bowel movement would. That is the very reason it works as a sexual option for many people., men and women alike. This small cramp is most likely harmless, provided it didn't last for several hours after intercourse.
Interesting note: oral sex does not strain the cervix directly.

The tissue that separates the vagina and the anus is very thin, and yes the cervix can be irritated by anal sex. I would avoid any sex in that area, and too much anal sex can cause a vaginal fistula, which is a hole that forms between the vagina and the anus, and results in stool coming out of the vagina.

You should not be having sex now, anal or vaginal. Let him just rub your clitoral area to bring you to orgasm. The wall between the vaginal canal and the rectum is incredibly thin. This will affect your cervix. Oral sex can introduce infection at this time, as can any object placed in the vagina.

It's not wise to having any sort of sex after a D&C, the reason why they tell you not to is because it could cause an infection whether it be pentration or your muscles reacting to an orgasm.
It's best not to do anything until you have been cleared by your OB/GYN. Your husband could take care of himself in the mean time or you could find other ways to pleasure him without having to have any sort of 'intercourse'.

anatomically, i can't see it being an issue since you are talking about 2 different areas of the body being stimulated.
however, if you are feeling uneasy about it, then just stop sex until your dr clears it.
you can still give each other pleasure without penetration...or get some toys to penetrate;)
take care.

Ask your doctor. Seriously, that doesn't seem like something to mess around with.
