When you were growing up did your mother keep the house and your bedroom clean?

No, she stopped when i was seven. I started doing my own chores and the househole chores as well. Looking back, taking care of my own stuff taught me how to be independant and hardworking, and to appreciate the work of others.

no way... by the time i was able to reach the kitchen counters i had to wash dishes, learn to do the laundry and clean the bathroom. as for my bedroom... as long as it didn't get too messy i could keep it the way i wanted. but i am glad i had to do these things early in life cuz unlike some females i know how to do all these things without complaint.

Yes until I was old enough to do everything on my own. That's how I got allowance, my parents started me very young (5) because I was very demanding and wanted everything so they found ways for me to get money by doing stuff around the house and I'm thankful for that because I don't live like a pig like some other people's houses I've been in. Holly crap. Must be embarrassing to them to have people over.

yes.........and still does! my mother is a clean freak. we always had to clean up and make our own beds when we were little but she would always come to check it and make sure we did it the way she would. i no longer live with my mother but my brother and niece lives with her and she still does their beds and washes their clothes. she even arranges the dirty clothes in the hamper by colors and whites. she's constantly cleaning something. she doesn't even give the dust a chance to fall (ha-ha). but yes, she keeps the house and bedrooms very clean. she's a good mother!

My mother has always been a clean freak, but ever since I was seven years old I have had to do my own laudry and clean my own room...

No. As soon as we were old enough to know how to do a chore, it was ours - cleaning, cooking, laundry, etc. I've been completely self-sufficient since the 8th grade.

Heck no! My mom used to make all of us do our own rooms AND wash dishes AND do the laundry.

no when we got older not only did we keep our own room cleaned we helped with the rest of the chores that had to be done

No Way I always did that, I didnt have a normal mother, I was the mother, sister etc.!
(BTW- shes in prison right now...she was a crazy loon, I have nothing to do with her....)

nope I cleaned my room, I did my own laundry and we had a dishwasher
