i know that fornicating is having sex without being married but what is "shaking up"? what if you are dating and live together but since you are not married, you don't engage in sex? is that still a sin? where in the bible does it say livign together and not being married is a sin? what makes living together if you don't have sex a sin?

It isn't a sin to live together and not have sex, but it generally doesn't work well. It causes temptation that may be very difficult for some people to resist, and because of that, most Christians don't like the idea of living together before marriage. It can become a huge struggle for you and because of that, it's causing unnecessary problems in your own life. You have to judge for yourself, and remember that it's so much easier to give in that way.

Actually it is a sin, because you have began a marriage process with out vows therefore your going against the scripture where it says a man shall leave his parents and cleave to his wife, now if he leaves and he doesnt cleave to a wife, but a g/f and live together like there married its a sin, because the bed is undefiled and pure as said in hebrews

Free will is the best. =) You don't have to follow stupid rules that dictate your sex life as long as you don't want to. "Shacking up" is regarded by many reasonable people to be a good idea, because living with someone can totally change your perspective about them. You may find you don't really want to marry them after you live with them for a few months, but if you're already married, that means you've wasted a lot of money and tarnished your reputation.

I dont think living together is sinful but the likely hood that you will continue without sex is unlikely so that is why I think people say it is bad

"Shacking up" remains a sin since man and a woman lived apart until their wedding day.

Refer to the weddings of the patriarchs - Issac and Jacob for more detailed explanation.

Because modern secular and hedonistic culture allows for "playing house" - both man and woman exploit each other in a "test drive" which may or may not involve sex.

It would not be a sin, but it would be too much of a temptation -i would not do it. As for the person talking about free will-that is why we have aids and hpv and why our kids are going around shooting up schools.
