Wow, funny how respectful people are, I asked for serious responses only from pagans/witches. I wonder, all these wars over religion. It seems Christianity plays a huge role in all this drama. But are there any "holy wars" involving pagans??? Don't get me wrong, there are some great christians out there. Very interesting people of god, of love feel the need to fight over religion...

be cautious on finding your path through this form. If you are sincere in wishing to find your path in paganism you should do so research. Read as many books as you can, steer away from the ones that are so called "teen " manuals ect. two great authors are Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland. They both have several books out for beginners and seekers. They are well written and easy to read and understand.
Also look on the Internet. There are so many different site you can see. Just be cautious not everything you read will be accurate. One really great site for pagans is witchvox.com. They have listings of pagans and their paths through out the US. Witchvox also has many many other benefits to it.
Also if you find a coven / solitary / or a study group, question them on their paths and about them. If they tell you it will cost money, look some where else.
good luck on your path.

I would be wary of looking for a mentor here. There are some Pagans\witches that i feel are honest but just like in all areas others are not all they think they are.

For example - I do not do the coven thing - am a solitary and self-dedicated. To some that would mean i am not a "true" witch. But I have found my path to be greatly rewarding, and have been on it for pretty much all my life. I don't feel you need to have some else tell you whether or not you can have your beliefs.

First I would try and figure out the basic direction you feel is right - are you wanting to be part of a group - or do you go more towards solitary? What aspects are you drawn towards? Then you can seek a mentor to help you in your direction instead of trying to mold you in theirs.

If you want to email me I can tel you how I wound my way on my path - don't know if it would be advice but kind of let you know one way you might approach things.

This is probably a poor place to look. There are numerous pagans here whose advise and insight I find, well, insightful, but there's too much risk of a fraud trying to snag you.

I'd recommend you do google searches for sites related to whatever particular path you follow and work from there. Until then, I encourage you to post your questions here so that all may benefit from the answers (even if we have to thumbs-down all the people who try to tell you that you're following a false religion).

You have a couple of good answers - finding others to talk to via witchvox is always good - even email lists can help there. I would recommend possibly reading Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler - this was the first non-fiction book I read on my path and it helped me find out which path it actually was that I was on :)

Also toss me into the "feel free to email me any questions you want" category :)
