It's bad to do that in public, but it can't be illegal. Some people can't help it. Besides it would be a big waste of money!! There are better things our tax dollars can go to then the "Fart Police!" I mean wouldn't you rather see money going to put rapists behind bars? Why pay cops to go out patrolling for publilc farts? And what about SBD's? Are you going to give some little old lady a ticket for a silent fart someone else did in the department store because she looks like she did it? Put a law on the books "He who smelt it delt it" and just have anyone go to jail who is rude enough to yell in a public place "HE FARTED!!" Every preschooler in America would be shut down because all the little kids would be in Poot Prision!

Lord help us from the Politically Correct... in many cultures, belching or flatulence is appropriate following a good meal !!

They are natural bodily functions that can't always be controlled, and truely cause no danger or health hazard... sure they may be ANNOYING or EMBARASSING... but making them ILLEGAL?

How would you enforce such a law ? What would be the fines ?

Urination or defecation in public is illegal because it is a HEALTH Hazard... spitting isn't illegal in MANY places within the USA

Spitting, urination, and defecation are filthy and two of them are a hazard to public health (urine does not support the growth of germs). Belching and flatulence, while considered by many to be disgusting, place no one in any significant danger.
There are many things that are done in public that I consider disgusting, but I would not try to ban them.

Look out! It's the Flatulance Police!
Haven't we lost enough freedoms already?
Historical note: Flatulance was specifically ALLOWED in front of the Roman Emperor after a close friend of his almost died from trying to hold it in.

Because we will all die from poisononing recieved from holding in flatulence and ruptured stomachs from holding in belches-so if that was a law, animals will be exempt from it and it would be difficult to enforce, ie The SBDs-involuntary

Well that would be like making a law that if you sound horrible at signing that you shouldn't be able to (Not that I think it's right to just rip one off in a public place but it shouldn't be illegal).

Neither of those are pollution. It is just your body releasing what it needs to. Spitting can pass diseases and other things and urinating is contamination.

If it ever becomes illegal, then I'd never get out of jail! Disgusting? Yes! But still funny as Hell!
