I have feelings for my daughters father and my current boyfriend we are getting married. I am 20 and a single mom but my daughters father only recently came around this year paying child support and wants to see her. My daughter is two and i am going to introduce them witch is hard because she thinks my bf is her dad. Her father was my first love we were best friends in middle school and in highschool dated 4 years and even went to the same college.My bf was there when i was pregnant and in my childs life .

If your daughters "real" daddy was worth your time then he would have never left in the first place. He has a right to be in his childs life but you need to look at what a REAL man is that would be your current boyfriend for stepping in a helping you raise a child that is not his in the first place. Look at who has been there and supported you and your daughter through the good and bad, that is who will be there in the end. If he left you once he will leave again when something better comes along.

You need to make a decision fast. Don't get married if you have any doubt first of all. Is the dad just coming around cuz your getting married and he is being nosy? You need to prioritize what is best for you and your child. Depending on the circumstances with you baby's father. Why wasn't the father there for his child? You need to find answers to questions like that. Hopefully you will find a decision before the wedding day. Good luck!

You should make sure that you are really in love with your daughters father, not just in love with the concept and hope of having a traditional family. i.e. hoping you and your ex can be together just for the sake of your daughter. Furtermore, why would you want to be in love with someone who wasn't around your pregnancy and didn't pay child support for 2 years.

Hard question with no easy answers. Why is your baby's father just now stepping up to his responsibilities (is it because your getting married). And just because you let him in your baby's life, doesn't mean he gets to be in yours. Don't kick your boyfriend to the side just because your Baby's Father decided he wants to see her. And why now he had almost three years to get his act together. By the way a Daddy is that man who takes care of the child. A Father is just the person who planted the seed.

Well you obviously split for a reason and he wasn't around for you or your daughter until recently. It will be very unfair on your b/f, who has been there for you and accepted another man's daughter as his own, if you split with him for this other man. Who is to say it will last or that your other man wants you back, he might just be around for his daughter. You haven't said anything bad about your current b/f and if he treats you and your daughter well then you should stay with him. You always want something better in life but you should be grateful for what you have.

Its probably better for the girl ur little girl to have her real dad because later on in life she can get kind of confused and its really hard to explain to a five year old girl the problem between you you bf and ur x husband.
and its often better for the child to have the original dad with her.
