Chop up some apples, pop in a baking dish and sprinkle on some mixed spice and brown sugar. Rub plain flour into some butter until it looks like fine breadcrumbs, then add lots of brown sugar, mixed spice and maybe some shreds of lemon peel. Add it to the top of the apples and put it in the oven on low-medium heat for about 40-50 minutes, until the juices of the fruit start bubbling up at the side an dthe crumble goes golden.
Serve it with cornish ice cream. Yum!

Put the oven on (gas 5-6, electric 180 ish)
Peel and core some apples. Chop them up and put in a saucepan with a little bot of water and lemon juice. If they are cooking apples, add sugar. If not, up to you if you want sugar or not. Leave to simmer while making the crumble. Watch they don't boil dry.
Put 8 oz plain flour, 4oz marg and 2oz sugar in a bowl. Use hand food mixer to chop up into breadcrumbs. Don't mix for too long. Optionally add chopped mixed nuts and lemon or orange peel for extra zing.
When apples are soft, strain off most of the water and if required add Little mixed spice or Cinnamon to apples.
Pour apples into pie dish, pour crumble over top. Cook in oven for 30-40 mins.
(personally I always add blackberries from the garden too, but that's optional)
Yum!

peel and core some large bramly cooking apples and add water and a little sugar cook till soft drain of a litle of the juice (you can drink this later when cooled transfer the apples into a oven proof dish, now i make my crumble mixture with 2ounce self raising flour 4ounce of plain flour 4ounce of block marg or butter if you like butter cut into cubes 2ounce of brown sugar you can use white if you prefer and about 6 digestive biscuits (crushed in a bag )the biscuits will be added without the bag, once you have crumbled the flour marg/or butter together making sure your hands are cold and the rom is cool to avoid it becoming to oily rub together the flour etc between your thumbs and fingers a couple of inches above the mixture letting it fall into the bowl when it is a nice crumb consistancy add the crushed biscuits an mix together then top the apple mixture with this cook on a medium heat in the centre of the oven till a light golden brown turning the bowl in the oven a couple of times during cooking then when cooked allow to cool and serve with custard i also add a few sultanas or raisins to the apple mixture and if it for adults some cinnamon added is is yummy

Here is a simple one (the 8/6/4 method).
8 oz's plain flour
6 oz's butter
4 oz's sugar.
Place flour in bowl. Chop butter into small pieces and add to bowl. Add sugar. Simply rub the mixture between your fingers until it forms a bread crumb type mixture. This is now the topping (crumble) for a fruit of your choice. 1 suggestion:- peel 4 medium apples. Cut into small sections. Mix with berries of your choice. Lightly sprinkle with sugar. Top with the crumble mixture .. you now have a Summer Fruits Crumble. Bake at gas mark 6 (about 350 F) for 45 minutes or until mixture turns lightly golden .. simple and goes down a treat.

If you want it quick then you'd be better off buying ready made!
Apple crumble is quicker than pie.
Crumble. 6 oz sr flour, 3 oz butter. Rub in. Stir in 3 oz sugar.
Place tinned fruit in dish and cover with crumble, put in preheated oven at 200c for 30 mins approx.
This week I have made 2 apple and raspberry pies.
Takes longer but is fabulous with cream,
1lb (2) bramley apples and 8oz raspberries from Sainsbury's.
8 oz short crust pastry
Line pie dish with just over half the pastry.
Peel, core and thinly slice the apple then layer in the dish with 2 oz sugar sprinkled over.
Add raspberries and sprinke further 1 oz sugar over them.
Roll out remaining pastry and cover.
Flute edges, and brush with milk
Put in hot oven at 200 centigrade for about 30 minutes until golden.

Heres a great tip I found,
Get a can of apples, like for apple pies, Then pour in bottom of cake dish, top with regular cake mix ( YES DRY) and add some sugar to make the cake mix carmalize, oh and also add about a cup of melted butter, or enough to cover the cake mix! This makes a crunchy and crumbly crust WHO KNEW!!!!
I TRIED THIS WITH Peaches, ( just add some cinnamon to the sugar and mix, ) everything else is the same!!
SOOOOOOO GOOD!

Apple crumble
Get a load of apples, peel and slice them into a oven proof dish.
Now mix 6oz of plain flour, 3oz of sugar and 3oz of marge, mix until crumbly then pour onto top of the apples.
Put in the oven at 180 degrees C for about 20 mins or until it browns and you've got a fast apple crumble :-)
