My female tends to let out more of a squeak than a meow, as well. Some cats' vocal cords aren't as strong as others'.

Cats both squeak and miaow. Some are growlers. There as many different kinds of cats as there are cats. They have these little identities that are so amazing. Enjoy your little squeaker - he could have been a Siamese talking endlessly!

My pepper squeeks when I pick her up to!
I think we are forcing the air out their lungs when we pick them up too fast. lol

Both of mine squeak all the time.. It is because we either pick them up too fast and squeeze their lungs OR because we surprised them and they got a scare. :) Its probably nothing to worry about.

Probably just surprised him. My calico is a squeaker. My male siamese will squeak every now and again as well.

You could have suprised or maybe you are hurting him when you picked him up. He could have a broken bone or something you are pushing on.
Good luck and I Hope I helped! :)

May have problems - something broken or hurting. Inspect it and if needed take it to the doctor.
