we were born sinless but they we messed it up
slightly confusing question Im assuming you mean born into eternal life

Both. The fact that I was born means I had some negative karma to work out so I must have sinned in a previous incarnation but by attaining spiritual enlightenment I will become closer to the divine.

I was born into sin, that made me a sinner, but because I'm a believer, buried with Him by baptism into death, I was in newness of life, therefore, I am a saint of God. :) The old man (my sinful ways) was curcified with HIm.
