Cut out sodium in your diet as much as possible. Don't add salt, and look for low-sodium foods, drinks, and condiments. (I was surprised by how much sodium I was taking in with diet soft drinks!) I've been doing this for 5 and a half weeks, and it's helped my feet and ankles a lot.

Drink plenty of water, no matter which dieting problem you are on.
Swollen feet & ankles are likely to be due to water retention. By drinking more water (at least 2-3 litres a day, not counting soft drinks/coffee/tea), you'll ensure that your body eliminate the waste products resulting from the breakdown of fat which happen when you lose weight.

These self-care tips should help... and good for you for taking control of your health! All your hard work and determination will be well worth it when problems like this are a thing of the past.
- Wear support hose. When possible, put them on before you get out of bed in the morning, when swelling is at a minimum.
- Avoid wearing elastic-top socks or stockings.
- Avoid crossing your legs when sitting. When possible, sit with your feet propped up higher than your hips.
- Promote circulation by walking, swimming, or riding a stationary bike.
- Sleep on your left side to avoid compressing the major blood vessel that serves your lower body.
- Assist your blood vessels by resting, preferably on your left side, two or three times a day for about 15 minutes.
- Wear comfortable, low-heeled shoes.
- Avoid use of salt.
- Keep well-hydrated. Restricting fluids won't reduce swelling; it will simply encourage your body to retain more of the water you do take in.

Sure, the best way is to drink water all day. hopefully you can pee out the fluids. Believe it or not watermelon is a great snack, because it makes you pee frequently. Try doing more walking than excersise at first, till you get your circulation going again....best wishes.

are you on medications? what diet are you on? REMEMBER don't cheat on a diet it will come back thrice to haunt you and you don't need that.
better shoes, drink more water... and prop those feet after you're active. OH and soak them with epsom salts too.

It may sound crazy but drinking LOTS of water helps. Don't overdo it, but just be sure to stay hydrated.
