Do lizards bite?

I believe they are poisonous. Is that true that people actually 'eat' lizads?

Very few lizards are poisonous. In the USA there is only one venomous lizard, the so-called Gila monster, which is slow and not a threat to humans. The Monitor lizard of SE Asia is enormous, aggressive and dangerous. Other than that, most lizards are small and harmless. All lizards are edible.

Lizards do bite although mostly to defend themselves. I know of three that are poisonous: the only one in America that is poisonous is the Gila Monster; the another one is the huge Komodo Dragon, which has poisonous bacterial growth in their saliva, and there's also the Monitor Lizard, another large lizard (dangerous, too... ).

Yes, I've heard that some are indeed edible but... yuck, I wouldn't want to eat a lizard!

Lizards primarily bite in self defense only or if they feel threatened. There are some poisonous lizards, like the gila monster in Arizona, and the Komodo dragon found on some islands, but not all lizards are poisonous. If your not sure, find an expert before messing with any wild reptile. And yes, thewre are certian cultures that eat lizards.

lizards do bite how else would they eat their food( mainly bugs) but I dont think there are any in the U.S. that are poisonous

many primitave people consume lizzards. the only poison lizzard is the hila- gila monster (unsure of spelling here)is the only poison lizzard in america, and it,son the endangered species list. many lizzards will atempt tobite but are unable to do so as they have no teeth
