truncal obesity refers to fat deposits that settle in the torso and abdomen. it puts you at risk for type 2 diabetes.
you cannot get rid of truncal fat simply by doing ab crunches - it is impossible to only lose fat in one area. you can do strength training in that area to improve the tone, but no one will see it until you lose the fat by living a healthy life - eat right, exercise, and don;t smoke. you've heard it all before - now go do it.

hi im a nurse. if you don't eat much and you do not live out a sedentary lifestyle and you're always up and about then there's no reason for you to be fat except for something in your body system that you might want to get checked out. don't be scared yet. but based on how you describe your physique it sounds to me like a thyroid problem or an adrenal gland problem... there's this symptom called "truncal obesity" which means your extremities are thin but you are fat from the midline.. stomach etc... there ARE A LOT of things/diseases which may cause this... one is steroid intake.. or it can be a thyroid or adrenal gland problem... all these diseases have a syndrome called cushing's syndrome which include symptoms like rapid weight gain particularly of the trunk and face with sparing of the limbs (central obesity). A common sign is the growth of fat pads along the collar bone and on the back of the neck (buffalo hump) and a round face often referred to as a "moon face". you will need to get checked out by a doctor and undergo some tests to point what is causing these so that you may get started with treatment.. this is treatable and you do not have to scared about this... there would be no harm if you get checked out at least you would know... now if the tests turns out negative... im sure your doctor may advise you with other alternatives.. hope this helps..

Truncal obesity is where the fat is distributed more on the abdomen and chest, and less on the legs and arms. You can picture an apple with two toothpicks for legs.
This can be potentially bad for your health as most of our vital organs are within our abdomen & chest.
Start considering weight loss management ... :-)
