I've heard that joke....why do we know Adam was white......have you ever tried to take a rib from a black man.LOL. No really perhaps it was so he would not move around and perhaps damage other stuff.

So that Adam wouldn't feel any pain. I mean, Adam and Eve did have nerves, they could feel things such as pain. They were human, after all. It's just that there was little or nothing to cause pain, unless maybe he climbed a tree and fell out. Who knows? The Bible never says that there was NO PAIN or no physical feeling or reflexes (that would be silly) before Adam's fall. It's just that there was no sin, and without sin there is no evil. But if Adam stubbed his toe, I'm quite sure that he would feel it. Also, if he wanted to hurt himself or Eve, he could have. They also had free will, just as we do now.

God didnt NEED to do anything, he could have spoken her into existence.

God chose to do it this way. Why he chose to do it this way is left up to our imaginations except for the part where adam states that Eve is his because she is part of him, meaning he is no longer whole without her.

I gotta think here, that Adam may have found it unsightly to see his insides being taken out and transformed, but that is just my imagination.
