Revelation 22:7 "[Jesus said 2000 years ago] Behold, I am coming soon [the final coming]! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book."

And Revelation 22:12 "[Jesus said 2000 years ago] Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done."

And Revelation 22:20 "He who testifies to these things says, 'Yes, I [Jesus] am coming soon.'"

It's been 2000 years already and we have not had any judgment day yet!!. What does the word "soon" really mean in the Bible??? and why say it when those whom it was told to were going to die without seeing it anyway??? Where is the grammatical logic behind it???

Let us look at 1Peter 4:7 "The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins."

Again, the people whom this prophecy was told to have died 2000 years ago and were desolved into soil by bacteria and this prophecy was never fulfilled until now!!!.

It also says that 1000 years to God is as one day. And that we do not and will not know the day and hour that He will come. First, prophesy must be fulfilled. And that is being fulfilled everyday. Revelation tells us of the beast and the four horses and all the plagues to come. So far, the ark of the covenant has yet to be found, which has not. The antichrist has not come yet. The technology is JUST now coming in to place. Be watchful for the signs of the times. RFID is being used everywhere, tracking systems being set into place, and there is a man proclaiming he is in touch with the one who is supposed to be the be all end all of guys, bring peace, and will come to reveal himself soon. Beware, he is not who he says, for Jesus will proclaim Himself and does not need a mediator. Plus, in Luke, Jesus says He came not to create peace between man, but division, because he who loves the father loves Jesus, and he who does not accept Jesus as the sacrifice will be divided against the ones who do. Research is very good before you start dividing the Scripitures. Many people take the verse and not the whole chapter, and forget that Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic are very different from english so the translations are not always what you would think. Be careful with that.

Dear RU Ready,

The Lord Jesus Christ (God) told Noah when the worldwide flood would occur, to the very day(Genesis 7)! The Lord also informed Lot before the destruction of Sodom and Gommorah (Genesis 19)--He also got Lot and his 2 daughters out before the fiery infurno.
The Bible gives completely accurate time information because it is God's words. Tracing the time markers back to Noah's flood, we find that the flood occurred in 4990 B.C. Some of your other responders (to your question) have mentioned 2 Peter 3:8-10. However, if you read the whole chapter, you will find that the Lord mentions the flood of Noah's day and then transitions to the end of the world (it will be burned up with fire). May I draw your attention to that interesting verse that separates these 2 events: ...but beloved..one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.. Remember, the Lord gave Noah 7 days to get all the animals and his family into the ark before the flood would begin. If we add 7000 years to 4990, we arrive at 2011 A.D. This and other evidence in the Bible strongly suggests that 2011 will be the year in which the Lord returns. That day, of course, would mark the end of the world and Judgment Day. As for the day and hour, the Lord has said that no man knoweth the day or hour.
Please see my references.

You are one of those people who have probably only read the chapter Revelations. The Old Testament talks about the end too but do you know about that? Searching for truth is good, and if your question had ended at "...according to your Bible" I would have thought that's what you were doing. By adding the rest of the info, it's clear you are just being ignorant. The prophecies you talk about were not just meant for the people that heard them then. It is information pertaining to every person of every age and all time. Do you really think God cared about grammatical logic? The Bible is written for those of us who believe, and for those who would like to come to believe. It also isn't meant to be taken literally; you need to use your brain and your heart to figure out what is actually being said. I'll pray for you and good luck. PS You wouldn't seem so rude and ignorant if you capitalizes the words that should be, and putting the brackets around Jesus was disgusting. You don't have to believe, but at least show a shred of respect.

This pretty much sums up what I believe:

2 Peter 3:3 through 8 "Know this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willing are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly men. But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."

Jesus return was for the Jews and he did come back for the ones that believed in him. Most people don't have an understanding of the truth because they keep believing what they were taught,Jesus in the 24th chapter of St John said ....this generation shall not pass till all these things be done.He was talking to and about then not us.The next thing will be Jesus's true church calling fire down from heaven and burning this earth up.

The bible says a year is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a year with God. Matthew 24:4-8. Too much to type, but read the whole 24rh chapter of Matthew and see all the list and compare it to today.

It is worth noting that the general belief among early Christians was that the Second Coming would occur in their own time.

Numerous times over the succeeding 2,000 years various self-styled "prophets" have claimed to know the date of The End. Somehow, they have all managed to be wrong, and the world hasn't ended, at least as far as I can tell....

Of course it comes down to the question of what time means to an eternal being....

According to the Bible we have been in the "end times" for 2006 years so far..But God is outside of time...SO we cannot use our finite understanding and human words to know when Jesus will return.

The Bible says "He will come like a theif in the night"
and
"No man knows the day or the hour"

2 Peter 3:8,9 "But you must not forget, dear friends, that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn't really being slow about His promise to return, as some people think. No, He is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so He is giving more time for everyone to repent." Jesus can not lie. :)

Was not fulfilled until now? You mean that Jesus came and no one thought to tell me? Well isn't that just dandy! Here I was getting ready for His second coming (not the last) and here it is I am told that it has already happened. Great! Just Great!
