They are not at all related. Kabbalah is Jewish mysticism which first requires you to master Torah.

The Kaballah is a system of Jewish mysticism and occultism. As far as observant Jews are concerend, Tarot is foreign. The Tarot was 'tacked on' to the Kaballah by Western esoteric organizations such as the Order of the Golden Dawn. Tarot is much easier to learn than Kaballah, but they are both worth studying. Amazon.com will have many good books to choose from.

There is a whole school of thought that connects them. You should get some good books on the Tarot to start. Start with Rachel Pollack. She is the classic beginners book. Excellent. Then you can find specialty books on the kabbala and its links to tarot.
