my son is a fairly picky eater when it comes to lunch. I make lunch for him:
a> because it's easier than fighting with him lol
b>it's cheaper for me
c>I know what kind of balance his lunch & snack have.

Our school lunch is pretty varied, but he's new to the school and hasn't gotten used to the idea of buying lunch. I do ask him every morning (we have a monthly calendar list for lunch and breakfast) hoping he might change his mind, lol, so far no luck.

My daughter is 5 and I give her packed lunches. She did have school meals for a while but she is very shy and was too embarrassed to ask what she wanted and would end up having virtually no lunch. I have decided to give her packed lunches until she is more confident with asking what she wants.

I have 2 boys one K one 1st they usually eat school lunch but i make one for them if they ask cause they don't like what is on the menu for the day. Our school lunches are very well balanced and nutritional.

The school that we take him too provides it! But really when I look back at when I was a kid I loved it when my Mom packed me lunches.. You can make it more healthy for them and it is made with your love :) plus when they get older you can put little notes in their lunches .. I know it meant the world to me :)

I alternate bringing and buying. It also helps me TRY to budget because buying lunch can become expensive.
