He can't be the antichrist because the antichrist is either Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson. Ehrman is a prophet. Although, I guess years of study, begin a pupil of Bruce Metzger, poring over the ancient biblical manuscripts looking for why they differ from one another and which would be the correct reading, determining what the climate of early Christianity was, etc., would point to him being antiChrist? I think he is closer to the truth than many want to give him credit for.

No, but he's does have a fantastic series of lectures available from the teaching company.
