They won't stop rough housing. My adult cat meows like a maniac. I know they're playing, but they're knocking stuff over and being crazy! Should I separate them, or is that not worth it?

You can try that. Are they strictly indoor cats? Maybe they need more exercise and that is why they are acting out. You can also get a water bottle and when they start acting up spray them.

Are they male or female? Have they been operated? If a male had a vasectomy, remember : They can't make babies anymore, but they definitely still have all the behaviorial pattern of a tomcat. What age are they? After a while (5 years of age) cats become less active and more couch-pillow-looking. To come back to the vasectomize-male, you're bound to a world of trouble, cause they still want to shag and fight. If you can put them out for the night, it's for the best. If they are appartement cats, you might find it difficult. That's why most people go for female cats.

Throw them into the garden with some toys.
I hang rattle balls and stuff from the washing line. They either play together or choose different toys to play with.
If they are indoor cats.. get involved. ! Let them know who's boss. That's what this play is all about .. they are testing each other.

That is just cat behavior. Sort of make your house where things can't easily be knocked over until they calm down some.

Remove the items they knock down. It's all about the cats, they are probably so cute when they play don't spoil it for them!

Okay, so if they are always indoors let them outside. My cat was a pshyco and we let him out and hes calmed down alot. Also they could be in "heat" that makes them crazy acting.

no dont seperate them put them in a room with nothing in it so they can do it in their. do this for like 1 hower aday till they stop
