everything is in the the future and everybody lives in the past, not just Christians. Christians just know what happened and we know what has to happen, and as for the present, we should be living in the present and living for God, we live in the present just like we reflect on somethings in the past and we live in the present to prepare for the future.

There are things happening everyday that have been prophesied about (yes, past and future). Yes, Jesus fulfilled prophecy (I think 333 of them) and yes, revelation tells us about the future. The past tells us where we have been, teaches us about what NOT to do through behaviors of others, and how prophesy has been fulfilled. The future tells us where we are going. Do we look for the signs of things to come, absolutely, but it cannot consume my life. I don't believe and actually would be pretty upset if my God changed His views based on MY thinking. God is perfect, I am not. This world is based on a humanistic view of things. I am satisfied and can rest that He has taken care of things before I even have to worry about them. I hope and pray that my views stay according to His will.

I believe that Christ is alive today, that there is much wisdom to gain from the bible which was written in the past, and much to learn and watch for in the book of revelations. Christ IS coming back and those who do not believe that he lived, died, and rose again will burn in the fires of hell.....boy that sounded really extreme didn't it. Sorry about that I believe that my beliefs for the era I live in are to follow the ten commandments, even if I wasn't Christian, they are the right thing to do in any given circumstance.

Boy,,I sure would like to find out how you came to understand christianity as you discribe it,,,Sounds like TV-anity...not christanity...Look deeper...Look at Christ,,,is he disapointed??? I mean he sees the same stuff you do...Are you really interested or just wanting to crcitise the easy stuff...real believers are to be jesus's hands and feet here on earth now ,,loveing all as He would...He gave us his very life ,,,I live in the present for him...Crack open a bible near you and turn off the TV...Wow...it's a day later and i'm still thinking about your question...i'm certainly guilty of what you describe...i need to ask myself your question every morning...Thanx..

Not true. The greatest message in Christianity is about love-- and love is in the present, forever.
The prophecies that you're referring to (I assume from the book of Revelation) are actually happening at this time. But it's hard for someone who's an unbeliever to see it-- it's even hard for believers to see it. Perhaps if you drop your cynicism and come from an open-mind, then you may see more of the truth.

Jesus said in Matthew 7:33 and 34 "But seek first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought of the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."
In other words, we live our lives in the present, and our lives define our beliefs.

Now is the kingdom and we are called to love each other and live in peace as far as we are able.
The kingdom of God is understood as an interior, spiritual reality in this world, since the kingdom of God exists wherever justice, wisdom, truth, and the other virtues are present. According to Augustine, the church, as the historical form of the thousand-year reign, is the kingdom of Christ or the kingdom of heaven, but it is also still in conflict and waiting for its completion. The (true) members of the church are already in the kingdom of God; when the time of fulfillment comes, they will form the kingdom of God. (Handbook, 420-21)
While the Church considers herself now as the kingdom Catholic priest and theologian Ott writes that the Gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed world-wide,

the idea of being a good person, being loving to the ppl in your life, being able to ask for forgiveness and forgive others.... those are just a few, but I think those are pretty timeless. You may want to get more information about the Christian faiths before you make general statements about what they believe.
