They're lumped together (by the U.S. at least) because the government wants a simple, easy to digest message for voters. We did the same thing with communism in the cold war era. Anyone who even came close to being a communist was pushed into that category and became our enemy and we lost some real opportunities to work with more moderate countries who happened to lean left. And we're doing it again.

As you indicated, Hezbollah, while not being saints by any measure, have never had any issues with the U.S. And by lumping them all together with Al Queda all we did was marginalize them and ignore the true issues that made them come into being.

Hamas also, while having unacceptable goals also does not launch attacks on the U.S. or aim at the U.S. Do they like us? No. Would you? We support a government they see as their oppressor- and can make a good case for that, I think. The terrorism they sponsor is horrific and tragic but I'm not sure branding them with the same brand as al Queda is doing anything.

This is the endless problem in the West as we ignore the root causes of each unique situation. Groups spring up out of desperation and eventually radical ones resort to terrorism (it is the 21st century means of rebellion for many). Then, after having ignored their peaceful pleas, we can label them as terrorists and continue to ignore them, but now because they are "evil" or "cowardly" terrorists.

So while I do condemn what Hezbollah has done recently (and any other strkes against civilians) we would be better served focusing on the problem rather than spending time categorizing groups for the purpose of justifying NOT focusing on the problem.

All are terrorist organizations who have no value for human life, hate democracy because it scares them to death ( yikes, people will be allowed to think for themselves ) and seek the complete destruction of Israel and Jews in much the same manner as Hitler. Another 20 Iraqi Muslims were found tortured and murdered by an Islamic death squad in Baghdad today, so they don't just kill Christians and Jews. Hatred and the death of innocent people is wrong and ANY group who practices these methods ARE terrorists, regardless of nationality or beliefs. Peace!

Because it's much easier to label everyone that opposes the US government as a nut case terrorist than to consider that our behavior in the world has consequences, and that maybe, just maybe, some people are pissed off for good reasons.

Because they are all muslim extremists who want non-muslims to be dead. This is WW3 -- mark my words, they will not rest until you either convert or die. Thank God we have a HEROIC president who stands up to these psychos. You should thank GOD for Pres. Bush and do whatever you can to praise him and elect another Republican, or we may be doomed.

Loves America = 'Against the terrorists'
Doesn't love America = 'With the terrorists'.

Didn't you get the memo?
