Some people think we ought to accept their load of bull and turn the other cheek but if you believe in something why shouldn't you be able to defend your belief as any non-christian would do for their belief!!!

You can't be a doormat if you don't feel like a doormat. Have faith, be proud, and have a thick skin. Also, say a few prayers for all those who do pick on us; when they are in hell, you can wave at them from Heaven. At least they can't still throw us to the lions.

I don't expect anyone to be a doormat. What I do expect is if someone claims to follow a loving, merciful god, then they should at least appear to have the same attributes and not try to use threats of their god to get their way

I applaud your question. Hopefully it will make both isdes ponder.
By "both sides", I mean the Christians that suport the whole loosey` goosey love doctrine, and the radical fundies...
and those that treat Christians as a group that is out to get them
Oh that was three groups..Well, you get the picture...

Jesus preached more on hell, than he ever did on heaven...If you love someone, you will tell them the truth!!

I think some Christians thrive on persecution. It spurs your faith and knowledge in Him. But we fight in different manners. Not physically but with the armor of God. I think American Christians have much less ability to fight and put on less armor than Christians in Pakistan. It is because we see things and opportunity rather than a saving relationship in Jesus. We replace Him with our own ambitions, which ABSOLUTELY needs to change. Oh, one more more thing, I see more people stand up for Jesus on the internet than I ever have walking down the street.... BTW...Thank you for your question.

The only people that will be a doormat are those that let themselves become so.

I do not see how we are to be doormats. If we tell people the truth and then eave it up to them to decide we are in the right.

NO. The only time we're supposed to not defend ourselves is if an evil person or group seeks to persecute us because of our faith.

Peace.

You have a serious persecution syndrome going.

Do you have anything to offer other than complaints that people haven't been assimilated into Christianity, Mr. Borg?
