That's not so surprising. All the world's religions stemmed from the same basic beliefs! Because everyone was so secluded from each other, the tenets changed to reflect their needs of the time.

I got this from the Quran. To me this does not sound too much like "Love thy neighbor as thyself."
4:89 "They long that ye should disbelieve even as they disbelieve, that ye may be upon a level (with them). So choose not friends from them till they forsake their homes in the way of Allah; if they turn back (to enmity) then take them and kill them wherever ye find them, and choose no friend nor helper from among them,"
Here are a couple other warm fuzzy verses I found too in the Quran....
4:56 "Lo! Those who disbelieve Our revelations, We shall expose them to the Fire. As often as their skins are consumed We shall exchange them for fresh skins that they may taste the torment. Lo! Allah is ever Mighty, Wise."
41:27 "But verily We shall cause those who disbelieve to taste an awful doom...."
41:28 "That is the reward of Allah's enemies: the Fire. Therein is their immortal home, payment forasmuch as they denied Our revelations."
Thanks, but no thanks, I'll stick to Christianity.

Love your enemies - to think and act with compassion toward ALL your fellow (wo)men has bee taught by a number of "religions".
We have morals and ethics and laws. What are they based on?
In my opinion they are based on human relations. How we think we should behave towards one another.
If we look at what most of those wisdoms have in common we find that the qualities of compassion and forgiveness are the most prevalent recommendations for “human” behavior in all the serious “religions”.
Unfortunately, they are not easy to incorporate in our “normal” life. So we look for – and find! – the “loopholes” and use them to justify (= make something unjust appear “just”) our deviations from the basic message.
Jesus said that the two “first and foremost commandments are: to love God… and to love our neighbour – even if that neighbour is your enemy! Those two are the basis for all other laws. Any interpretations deviating from those two are invalid.
Anybody who does follow those two laws (no matter what “religion” or “denomination”) will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Trouble is we don’t. We are NOT perfect. That’s why we have the various “religions” and “denominations”, to accommodate OUR various views on what is “good” and what is “evil” according to OUR OWN interpretations instead of listening to Christ’s words, THE TRUTH.
Here is an excerpt from a presentation given by Ra'ana Dilruba Yasmin on the subject of Islam, Forgiveness and Jihad.
"The seminal principle of Judaism is justice; a central principle of Christianity is compassion. Islam values both justice and compassion, and considers them complementary to each other. You should strive to establish justice, but forgive those who fail to treat you justly in spite of your efforts, perhaps due to their shortcomings or plain ignorance. Islam also says:
"If any show patience and forgive, that truly would be an exercise of courageous will and resolution in the conduct of affairs." Qur'an: Sura 42:43 (Counsel)
Forgiveness plays an essential part in human relations, and magnanimity is most certainly a sign of strength. Mercy out of power rather than mercy out of weakness is recommended.

now only 100% purely existing religion in this world is Islam! And only purely 100% existing revelation is Holy Qur'an All other revelations are corrupted! The only true God Allah-almighty/our creator/the creator of universe says in Qur'an (V51: 56) that "And I (Allah) created not the Jinn and Mankind except that they should worship Me (Allah alone)". As well as in (Qur'an 3:64) Allah says that "O people of the Scripture! Come to a Word that is Just between us (Muslim) and you, that we worship none but Allah (Alone), and that we associate no partners with Him (Allah), and that none of us shall take others as Lords (Gods) besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: Bear witness that we are Muslims (truly submitted/obeying to only-God)".

The Quran has verses both ways.
Muslims quote the peaceful ones when defending their faith and preaching for converts,
And the violent ones when they need kids to blow themselves up or to raise an army to kill unbelievers.
They quote verses that praise women to Christians, then stone women to death for adultery.
Double speak.
Peace!

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
Kill Witches
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)
Kill Homosexuals

Kill Fortunetellers
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
Death for Hitting Dad
Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death. (Exodus 21:15 NAB)
Death for Cursing Parents
1) If one curses his father or mother, his lamp will go out at the coming of darkness. (Proverbs 20:20 NAB)
2) All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense. (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

Kill False Prophets
If a man still prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall say to him, "You shall not live, because you have spoken a lie in the name of the Lord." When he prophesies, his parents, father and mother, shall thrust him through. (Zechariah 13:3 NAB)
Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
