Open dialogue about any given controversial subject is actually a healthy and normal thing to have. I agree that there are some posts that incite more hatred, but those posts are not just from the ones that you believe are misunderstanding the basic concept of Muslims, it is from the Muslims as well. The deaths of many innocent people at the hands of Muslim extremists, and to some, the American government as well, is an incitement of anger and hatred in and of itself.
I believe that most of the anger toward the Muslims as a whole is due to their complacent attitude toward the extremists that say they are following the law of Allah. In this, I have to agree that their anger is not misplaced. It is, in fact, misunderstood by the Muslims that do not incite hatred, as being a racist hatred when it is nothing more than an anger toward those that, some feel, should stand up and do something about their own extremists.
The ones that you are calling stupid and inciting more hatred are being led to believe that even the true Muslims will not do anything againsts the extremists, for no other reason, than they too are Muslim. What message do you think this sends to the haters of all Muslims? It very well may be a minority that is committing acts of terrorism, but why then, is the majority not doing anything to stop it?

At the end of the day we are not sat at a table and having a serious discussion, this is Yahoo Answers. Any stupid comment can be posted on here. In my opinion the question that Yacine B has asked is a good serious question that merits an intelligent response. To simply say 'i think you are stupid' as 'take that' has said has no bearing on the discussion whatsoever. I can imagine take that sniggering behind his/her computer screen.
I am relatively new to yahoo answers to be honest I fell a little stupid myself, I have been answering what would otherwise be deemed as stupid/disgusting questions seriously. Therefore I would hope that if any sensible person, like Ellie, comes across a statement that is obviously derogatory to a certain group be totally ignored.
IGNORE THE STUPID B*STARDS!!!

I don't have any less respect for Islam than I do for Christianity. Most of the remarks I've made in answers - and I admit I've been pretty scathing - have been in response to theists of either persuasion using this forum to tell us how great their god or prophet is. (or like that Jehovah's witness above, taking the opportunity to preach in the guise of answering your question) If pointing out fallacy and error rattles people, then perhaps it does some good.
But I agree that gratuitous hatred and lies, of which I've seen plenty, do no good at all. And I do not believe, as many people here seem to, that all Muslims are terrorists. However, I do believe that the religious mindset, requiring as it does the ability to suspend disbelief and accept the irrational, lends itself to extremism.

I was actually thinking the same question earlier.have a few pointers, and there are probably narrow minded people that you should just let them get on with their own pathic lifes.
1) Misunderstanding:I have seen alot of comments where people have said the Quaran says kill,no it doesn't it says live among people peacefully
2)I hate these terroist, especially for killing in the name religion, talk about lettting everyone get the blame
3)some people don't know any different apart from hate
4)The only time the human race will stick togeather is if we were attacked
Lets face it,some people don't know any different apart from hate

Peoples opinions of you will improve greatly when they see YOU start to vigorously police your own extremists.
You can make excuses for them all you want, but what's needed is action with a capital "A"
After all, they are your enemies too. These bombings are victimising huge numbers of Muslims yet we don't see a lot of public displays of opposition to them in your neck of the woods, do we?

You said: "We and our religion can't be responsible for the action of a minority."
Well, the fact is that you CAN be held responsible, and you ARE responsible. By the fact that you just say "wahhhh.... leave me alone.... it's not meee...", rather than condemning them, you identify yourself as an enabler and an abettor.
The fact that moderate Islam raises funds for these fanatics, and shelters them, and to some extent apologizes for them (it's not THEIR fault... its YOUR fault... if you would change your foreign policy, they'd leave you alone), and does not take it upon THEMSELVES to undertake a campaign to stop these people, and bring them to justice, makes you just as guilty.
I am reminded of videos of the lovely citizens of Beruit dancing and celebrating in the streets upon hearing the news of 9/11. Were you among them?

I'm totally on your side on this one.
I'm Irish, and that's not a religion, but there was the same thing going on against us when the IRA was running a bombing campaign in Britain.
The rest of us had done nothing to deserve it, but the hatred was still enormous.

It may be a minority, but its a much louder then the majority. Most Americans only see the terrorist, and the terrorist enablers dancing in the streets after attacks.

True. But you should condemn these actions of the minority more than is being done now.
The muslim community appears to be silent unless the Mohammed cartoons appear in some newspaper. Then everyone goes berserk.

i agree with you Yas i think these people just want groups to blame for everything and they dont look at the big picture. everyone is not the same as each other. so why constantly put muslims down when it is an individual who chooses to act out these crimes and so the rest of us are blamed.
