1 teaspoon grated onion
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 tablespoons flour
1 cup cream
1 teaspoon beef extract
salt and pepper

Brown onion slightly in butter. Stir in flour. Pour in cream gradually, stirr
ing constantly, cook until slightly thickened.
Season with beef extract, salt and pepper and cook about 2 minutes longer.

Brown Sauce

2 tsp. butter
2 tsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
14 oz. beef stock

Melt butter in skillet. Add flour, salt and pepper. Slowly add beef stock, stirring constantly. Cook 15 min. over very low heat. May add 2 Tbsp. wine for flavor. Serve with beef dishes. Serves 4.

Its made of Malt vinegar (from barley), tomatoes, molasses, spirit vinegar, gluose-frutose syrup, dates, sugar, salt, modified maize starch, rye flour, tamarind extact, spices and onion extract. All wrote from the HP sauce bottle.
