I'm a girl and have asked several guys out when I was younger. You will get different opinions if it's proper for a girl to ask a guy out. For me, I don't care what they say.
When I was interested in a guy, I would go up to him, and ask him if he would like to go out for a cup of coffee or lunch sometime. Or if he is interested in a sport or something, I may ask if he would like to go to a game with me. Consider how you like to be asked out.
From experience, most guys do not realize they are being asked out on a date, they think it's a casual thing where a couple of friends are hanging out. Although I can't say how to break down that barrier. But good luck.

Take it from me sweetie, DONT ASK A GUY OUT!, unless u know for a FACT he LIKES u and is extremely shy, but other than that, if a guy is feeling u, and u give him just a LITTLE hint that u like him, he will ask u out on his own. If he doesnt their is a reason why. Reasons like he has a girlfriend, he likes someone else, or he's not feeling u like that. Dont embarrass urself. If ur in high school, a good way of seeing if he likes u is getting a friend to coolly ask him by bringing up ur name, etc...............
But guys are to do the asking, let him be a man...................

It is OK to ask him out, but you can always be subtle about it. Like, if you find out he is going to be somewhere, then tell him you will be there too and suggest you guys hook up. Then see where it takes you.

Just ask him! Life's too short to pussyfoot around with stuff like that. You never know what might become of it -- a girl asked me out one time during our junior year of high school, and now she's my wife!
