1) Approach dumb rich ignorant student talking about "peace" and saying there should be, "no retaliation."
2) Engage in brief conversation, ask if military force is appropriate. 3) When he says "No," ask, "Why not?"
4) Wait until he says something to the effect of, "Because that would just cause more innocent deaths, which would be awful and we should not cause more violence."
5) When he's in mid sentence, punch him in the face as hard as you can. 6) When he gets back up to up to punch you, point out that it would be a mistake and contrary to his values to strike you, because that would, "be awful and he should not cause more violence."
7) Wait until he agrees that he has pledged not to commit additional violence.
8) Punch him in the face again, harder this time.
Repeat steps 5 through 8 until they understand that sometimes it is necessary to punch back.

Steven C, good point, but if he has a gun he is a hypocrite from day one. Plus the terrorists were doing their evil long before 9/11 so your example is wrong to the extreme.

That is a great idea. Military force is needed at times.
I don't recommend doing it though. Let them think as they wish. We will continue to fight for them. You would more likely break your hand before they understood.

Your question assumes that all leftists are pacifists. Sadly, this disregards many who are fighting overseas in Iraq and elsewhere, illuminating your arrogance and dismissal of anyone who doesn't share your political ideals.
For example, Democratic Senator Tim Johnson has a son who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. Very few of the GOP ChickenHawks who squander our troops like a poorly-managed natural resource have immediate kin on the front lines, and would wet themselves at the prospect of serving themselves.
I'll retract that should President Bush sign-up his daughters. But you and I both know that's not going to happen, any more than the Iraqis are indeed welcoming our troops with "open arms and flowers"....but I digress. The President was too busy doing beer-runs and scoring cocaine during his National Guard "service", anyway. I wouldn't be surprised if his father...a GENUINE veteran...was a bit ashamed.
Take off your blinders. Blue_Falcon_gillis has a much more informed, mature take than you do. I'd love to see how you handle a parking ticket.

Under the Bush plan, he should respond by ordering a bunch of kids to go to another school and punch someone who happens to look kind of like you, while at the same time completely ignoring you and letting you do whatever you want, even five years after the fact.

There is no teaching a leftist anything so it is a waste of energy .
Unless they are personally attacked by a terrorist - thinking about that - we would hear that the terrorist was targeting someone else or made an error in judgment.
It will always be someone else's problem so leftists never have solutions just complaints that the other side is doing every thing wrong. .... That is why they appear weak on security and world issues.
