For the greater glory of God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, you people are so predictable it's boring (and pathetic). Try thinking for yourself every now and then. I'm a Christian and this perpetual parroting of piety is making me sick to my stomach.

All Christians are called to evangelize in some way. However, as far as motivation goes, Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us that works are nothing, our salvation is a gift. God doesn't need us, He WANTS us. When you have a choice to either do what He wills or not, it is when you realize that God sent Jesus as a sacrifice to atone for OUR sins, that all of this is not just some good story to read or some rules to live by- that there is a God who cares for us and loves us so much. I owe Him my life, my heart, and if He wants me to share that love? Yes, I will do that. Because that is all I have to give, however small the amount. God wants His kids to be with Him in heaven.

I don't 'witness,' since I wasn't there myself, but I do preach and pray that the lost will be saved. There are many reasons:
1. Hell is so awful. Anybody who knows what the Bible says about it wouldn't want to be there. You won't be 'partying with your friends there'; you'll be suffering for eternity. Any friend or loved one who is there never wants to see you again (Luke 16:27-28).
2. Heaven is so wonderful. Again, anybody who knows what the Bible says wouldn't want to miss it.
3. It's a command of God to preach to the lost (Mark 16:15-16).
4. My own soul rests in the balance. If people choose to disobey, they will suffer the consequences, but if we don't warn them, their blood will be on our hands (Ezekiel 3).
5. There is so much false teaching in the world. So many people are told that all they need to do is 'pray a little prayer' and 'ask Jesus into their heart.' They go away thinking that they are right with God, when then haven't obeyed (Matthew 7:21). The Bible says that to be saved, one must hear the gospel (Romans 10:17), believe it (Mark 16:16), repent of all past sins (Acts 2:38), confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (Acts 8:37), and be baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27) to wash away his sins (Acts 22:16), and which point he will be saved (1 Peter 3:21). I have dedicated my life to trying to show people what the Bible actually says, and where they have been misled.
There's five reasons. Any of them should be sufficient; if you see one you like, take it and go with it!

Really, everyone who respects and obeys Jesus Christ goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "change his mind". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!
That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.
(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.
Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Our only salvation is through accepting Jesus Christ as our personal saviour. The way each of us lives our life is the only witnessing needed. That is how Pres. Bush shows that he is a Christian in name only. The decisions he makes and the way he lives his life proves that he is not a Christian, he is just religious.

My love for God is my chief motivator when witnessing/evangelizing.
Actually, this should be our chief motivator in all things.
Peace.

My motivation for praying and hoping for the lost is to have that responsibility knowing that we have the truth and the life in Christ that he died on the cross for our lives. We must pray for those who got lost and or are lost in the dark world and that they turn to their slavation knowing that GOD is the only way to find pure holy grace by life.

# 1) to be obedient to God, as he commands us to spread the gospel.
# 2) out of love for my fellow man. I want everyone to be able to experience the peace and joy I have in Jesus.

Because once we've come to know and love God, his spirit just naturally leads us to minister to others.
