If took all your money, would you turn the other cheek and give me your credit cards too? Or would you want me arrested and severely punished?

Looking at these answers, I'd say most "Christians" are not of a forgiving nature. A few seem to believe in following Christ's advice, and seem to have true Christian values.
Myself, I am not a Christian. Not because I do not believe in Christ. But, I do not believe I am capable of following his teachings. I am not a forgiving person, and, I cannot promise my heart to Christ, if I cannot be earnest about it.
I would say that most here are not true Christians, because they don't believe they can follow His teachings either.

I would forgive you even before I have you arrested and severely punished. Forgiveness means not harping resentment or letting an offense rule your life and letting it go.
I would still have you punished so that you could hopefully learn from your made a mistake. Forgiveness does not give you that lesson.

I would forgive you, and I'd visit you in jail to tell you I forgive you.
Sorry, forgiveness doesn't mean there isn't consequences for wrong done. We reap what we sow is what the Bible teaches. Also, God chastises those He loves; if forgiveness meant that you couldn't punish wrong done, then God could never chastise anyone who was a believer.

My guess would be that you need the money more than I do to steal from me. It would seem like you need help in another way...like finding a job or something. I have forgiven way worse than that...stealing is bad, but totally forgive-able.

After you were arrested and punished, I would forgive you. You broke one of the 10 commandments.

I have forgiven much worse than this dear one. But forgiveness does not always mean a free ticket out of jail. One must be truly sorry for ones sins and willing to make ammends.
Peace Be With You,
Debra

It would depend on if you did it before I had taken all my meds for the day. If i was already medicated then you would probably be safe. If not I would have to rip your arm off and beat you with it until you gave me my purse back.

punish you to the fullest extent of the law. this violates the laws rules and mores of the society in which we live. if you needed something to get you food shelter or clothing there are agencies to help aid and assist you. there is no reason to steal unless you are willing to face the consequences of the society in which you reside.
