It is only to know the fact about how many animals and medicines obtained from them. I'm not able to find thro' search engines. Or rather this info is not available over internet. I too love animals. Please do not divert the question by discussing other things. Just lists of animals and medicines are enough.

Gravol (a pill used to treat nausea) is taken from pigs. The liver I think. Let me just second Haresh Bhai's answer. God gave the animals a right to life just like us. There are many herbal and ayurvedic remedies which I think will be better anyway because conventional medicine has a lot of side effects. Medical tablets destroy our liver after a while. The question remains...why should we try to live at the expense of our fellow creatures' lives?

Sadly human greed for research has resulted in literally every animal, even bird, fish,etc being used in one way or the other (dead or alive) for generating medicines of some kind or the other (Homeopathy, Allopathy,Ayurvedic,Unani,etc.). If you are a animal lover and want to protect the animals, forget it.If you are a would be doctor and want to research about animal extracts check with your senior doctor/principal.
