The UK system is PAL/I which has a different sound system from PAL/BG. However, Loewe TVs are something special. My daughter bought one in London and uses it now in New York City -- NTSC country. It works fine with Time Warner Cable.
And we bought a TV in London and use it in Switzerland.
If you do one of the following instead of off-air reception, I'm quite sure it will work because the reception is via SCART cable and not off-air:
1) NTL cable
2) Sky satellite
3) Free (formerly ON) digital (you buy a £60 receiver/converter in a TV shop)
and of course a DVD or VCR will work.
((Why do people post rubbish on Y! Answers, just guessing and supposing? The EU does NOT have standardized TV. There is PAL B/G, Pal I, SECAM L. And for US military transmissions, NTSC.))

The info I've managed to find is actually talking about electrical goods from the UK being used in Spain but naturally the reverse would also hold true. As far as TVs are concerned, this is what it says - Televisions and Video Recorders
The analogue terrestrial transmission system (RF) used in Spain differs from that in the UK. This means that you can get picture, but no sound, through the aerial input, if you use older UK TV or video in Spain. Most modern televisions are multistandard, which means they can work on either the British or Spanish system.
When it comes to connecting UK and Spanish TVs, videos and digiboxes together the situation is easier. Using the SCART (sometimes called Peritel) connectors all modern equipment has, all combinations can be used quite happily, as the SCART connections are standard throughout Europe.
How modern a 6 year old set is deemed to be, however, I'm not sure. Best thing would be to ask an Ex Pat already in Spain or alternatively, someone you may know who has already moved to the UK under similar circumstances?
Further to that and backing that up ...
There's a picture but no sound:
This is a surprisingly common problem and often arises when someone has taken advantage of a bargain seen in a French or Spanish service station. TVs sold on the Continent, unless there's a label on the box which specifically states that the set works on PAL I, will not pick up sound on UK TV.

Go into the setup menu and see if PAL/l is on the list, if so it will probably work. Friends of mine brought a Loewe tv from Belgium but they could only get a picture, no sound. However if yours doesn't work you can buy a freeview digital box for 60-70 euros and it will work perfectly via one of the SCART inputs. Or you could check with Loewe, give them the model number and they will confirm. The voltage is the same 220-240, all you have to do is fit a new 13 amp plug with a 3 or 5 amp fuse.

Spain is using PAL systems B and G, as is most of Western Europe. Unfortunately, UK is using PAL system I and this means that your Spanish TV will be able to receive colour pictures in the UK but not the sound.
Possibly, you may find a little switch that allows you to set it for system I but if not, you will not be able to receive offair programmes directly, but might consider connecting it to a UK video machine via a SCART. Then the signal from the antenna will be received by the video, and passed on to your TV via the SCART which is not system sensitive
However, do not forget, that you will not be able to connect the video to the TV antenna input, as the UK video modulators are also using system I.
If you subscribe to SKY, or cable or have a "freeview" digital set top box, these also have a SCART connection, so you would still be able to use your Spanish TV.
I know it is a bit annoying, but new TV's are not all that expensive, even in the UK!

Well, as far as i can tell the frequencies a re the same but when it comes down to the initial plug, there might be a problem.. I am positive that you oculd buy some sort of converter for it. Check out this web site. It tells voltages around the world.

It'll work but remember you have to buy a TV licence in Britain or pay a major fine. And yes, they will come around and check on you!
