Hey there ppl!!..^_^
I'm Josh . I'm 15 and My Exams have approached me.
I know that my concentration S-U-C-K-S!!!
Whenever I try to study, my thoughs just float in a OCEAN of thoughs!!
I think about this, I think about that ,I think about my crush and I think about LOADS of other stuff!!
I told my problem to my tuition teacher.
He told me that I needed to meditate. He told me that I had to meditate and Concentrate only on studies, as our mind, works like a swing............sometimes, our thoughs go to this..........sometimes to that.......
Now, Heck!! how do I meditate??
Please help me out and tell me what I shud do, to increase my concentration and to concentrate on ONLY one thing, if I have to.
Advice and help are happily accepted....^_^

Best bet would be to go to a library. It's very quiet and there will be no disturbances. Get all your books together. Dont forget a thing or else when you realise you need something it will disrupt your whole vibe.Sit down on a comfortable chair and desk(NOT on a bed, because that makes you too comfortable and you get tired) OR If you cant go to a library, study in your room. Close the door, switch off radio's, phones, computers or anything that can distract you. What also helps to keep your mind from wandering is listening to classical music. When I was in school I did this frequently and everytime I went to the library, I knew my work quicker and better and my marks were much better aswell. If you want to meditate - Sit in the park or garden on a nice fluffy blanket. Close your eyes and concentrate on the noises of nature, like birds, wind, leaves,etc. Think of relaxing things like a bubble bath or ice cream. Dont think of anything like girls either, because you will probably wound up wanting to chat on the phone or whatever. Do this for half an hour a day - it feels like forever, but it's really nice. Josh/Agent Jake: Do you live with companion animals (cats, dogs)? I find meditating on my cats to be very calming and centering. Just gaze at a peacefully sleeping pet; there is no better way to find focus (for me, anyway).

foret meditation,thats not gonna get you anywhere.make a game out of it,study for 5 min,take a break,6 min,take a break,7 min,take a break.yeah it'll take you longer,but you'll know the material alot more and and dont have to do gay meditation

it takes practice. start by sitting somewher quiet and in a comfortable position. then look around the room and focus on just one thing. think about that thing as long as you can without thinking about anything else. or you could also try sitting and just feeling your body. feel everything from your feet to your fingertips and breathe in deep and slow.

i have the same problem...
so this is what i do...
i make another time to wonder in my thought and leave a time to study...so i do this...i study then wonder to things like friends, and ,crushes whos cute or not...whos my best friend etc...
it kinda works...

well, i have this problem too, and btw, meditation doesn't work AT ALL, so all you have to do is to take a deep breath, and clear you mind, try not to think of anything, forget that there is sth called WORLD!! and read, read, read...and read.
I hope that will work...good luck!

well i say try listening to music then, STUDY in complete silence. or if thats not working then try having the radio on real quiet but just enough to hear it. hyope that helps!!
