Go to www.subguns.com there is a class 3 dealer listing there. You will need to buy the suppressor through a class three dealer in your state. If he has one in stock, be prepared for a $600 price. You will have to fully pay for the item. Then you fill out an ATF form 4 and pay $200 to the ATF. This will require a signature from a chief law enforcement official (county sheriff, police chief, DA, etc) and your fingerprints. You submit all this to the ATF. Somewhere between 4 and 16 weeks go by. If you are approved, you receive your form back with a $200 tax stamp affixed and can now legally possess (and take delivery) the suppressor. Note that suppressors are illegal in some states/counties/jurisdictions. In some cases they may be legal but you will not be able to get the LEO signature due to misinformation or a grudge against NFA items. Also note that you cannot cross state lines with the suppressor without prior notification and approval from the ATF.
Good luck. Suppressors will keep your hearing intact when shooting indoors. Before the NFA you could buy them at the hardware store. Europe, as anti-gun as they are, is very pro-suppressor. They like having their hearing too, and keeping the neighbors calmer during practice is a side benefit.
To date there is no known instance of a NFA registered suppressor having been used for a crime....

Yes, silencers are legal in most states. No Class 3 license is needed. They have to be NFA registered with the ATF, there is a $200, one time only tax when you buy it. Your Police Chief, Sheriff or other chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) must sign off on the form you submit to the ATF.
There are lots of companies that make and sell silencers, do a web search.

This is for everyone who wonders what you need a silenced gun for. Why not enjoy shooting without hearing loss, indoor ranges are loud even with hearing protection and ear muffs are uncomfortable. We place mufflers on our cars, why not firearms? do you think execution style killings would dramatically increase and everyone would have to live in fear if Silencers were legally readily available? The gentleman stated that they are available with a license from BATF this is true but you also have to agree to random searches of your residence by BATF and there are numerous regulations on storage which must be adhered to along with the fact that due to their difficult nature to obtain they are very pricey for a simple baffled tube with no moving parts

Get a class 3 firearms license. Pay license fee and submit to background check that may take months. Apply through ATF. Then you can buy one legally from anyone who can legally sell one.
