Do some high energy exercise, or go to the gym and pound on the bag or do kickboxing. Drink water---LOTS Breathe deep and let it out slowly (try not to pass out tho-do what works for you) Try Sucrets throat lozenges, not sure if it will help with the anger but it helped with my fidgetyness when i quit. Write in a journal, or a blog, or call a friend and vent. Good luck to you!!

This question brings back those bad memories... Exercise does help because the last thing you want when you're winded is a smoke. Some people claim eating works, but I was always worried that since smoking was automatic after eating, I tended to eat less to avoid the craving. Chewing gum works.

The act of actually holding a cigarette between your fingers in a physiological barrier to get by as well and may be the cause of some of your anger. Try holding a pen or pencil in your hand like you would a cigarette, that always helped me on long plane flights.

Good luck and stay with it.

Ditto on the exercise: It will be good for you in the long run and it will give you something to think about besides the fact that you don't have cigarettes.

Also, try chewing gum (Dentyne or Wrigley's, not Nicorette) and playing lots of music. Believe it or not, that can be calming.

If you have a martial arts studeo or a health club in your area, you might consider joining. That should rev your body up and give you something to burn that angry energy out on.

Good luck!

Did someone make you quit? If not, you shoud be happy, not angry. Just pat yourself on the back every day and tell yourself what a good job of quitting you're doing.
