absolutely.
I have experienced this firsthand, because I used to be very overweight and then I lost about 90lbs, and the way people treated me totally changed... Cashiers at the store were more polite, men would hold doors open for me, I would get "extras" when I got something like car detailing done.
Yeah, I don't think it's fair, I'm the same person I was 90lbs. ago, theres no reason to treat me any differently.

Yes! It's done all the time. Someone will hold the door for a pretty woman in the store, yet, let it slam in the face of a less than attractive or overweight woman, or they will let her cross a busy street, while the less than attractive or heavyset girl stands there for hours waiting to cross, or they will fall all over themselves to do something nice for her!
It's sickening. Women who are not as pretty have feelings too.
Whatever happened to the olden days where a guy was just a gentleman to EVERY woman, no matter what she looked like or her size? She was respected anyway because that is what they were taught.
I would never treat anyone differently because of looks. I tend to treat everyone nicely and even more nice if they are nice to me too.
No, it's not fair! (unless your the pretty woman getting it all!)

All the time: for every little thing. I saw an experiment on television where a pretty woman wore a fat-suit and then asked random strangers on the street for help in unlocking her car because she locked the keys in the car. Everyone rudely ignored her. Then, she took off the fat suit and acted a bit more ditzy and every single person she asked (men and women) were only too happy to help. A total eye-opener. How sad.

ABSOLUTELY !! I even conducted an experiment in the "Mall of America" MN. though they have no clue that they were being tested !
Being well dressed also played an important factor in treatment. Jeans and a sweatshirt received no help from store attendants... High heels, higher end looking clothes received special treatment the moment we walked in the door! Like being attacked by vultures !!
Looks / clothing / attitide ALL played factors... people do hold prejudices on many levels !

I do think that it is common for them to get better treatment, initially. And, no I don't think it's fair. I am pretty. But I dress casual, wear little make-up or none at all, 5 days a week because I work in a factory. But this lady at work (I call her Dee Snyder or Twisted Sister) dresses in good jeans, pretty blouses, and dress boots/shoes. She has her hair teased and hanging down her back. she wears lots and lots of make-up and a gallon of stink (Jlo perfume, usually). (Why is that a problem? We work in a dirty, smelly and very hot factory!) And she is 48. She looks good for her age (I bet she doesn't naked or without make-up, though). All the men at work drool over her and flirt with her. She bats her eyelashes alot, skips, Yes, I typed skip, and asks dumb questions. The guys love it, no doubt. One guy, we call him stick man because he is super skinny, will do leaps and bounds to help her with her job. He will even do her job and his while she files her nails or powders her nose. He even holds her purse for her, puts her cigarette butts in the trash, and drives miles to her favorite restaurant to buy her lunch for work. He is so in love with her. Everyone knows that she would NEVER go for him. She has even said it herself. But she loves the attention. You know how the saying goes, though: Pretty is as pretty does. Trust me, she can be deceptive, spiteful, rude. If it weren't for her looks, most guys would have told her off a long time ago. Funny thing is, she has been divorced 3 times! And she works in a factory! Apparently her looks didn't get her very far. Women at work don't expect a whole lot out of her, either. But it's because they think she is fragil, I guess. So, yea it's not fair! I am pretty, too.But I don't dress up to go to work in a factory. I also don't play dumb.

Yes-
Studies have proven that beautiful children get better treatment too.
My little girl gets free stuff all the time. If we go somewhere like chuck e cheese and she doesn't have many tokens to turn in she still gets tons of stuff that she didn't ask for. It amazes me. It isn't fair- that's for sure.

In some ways they get better treatment, however, they also have to deal with being treated like a piece of meat. They may get something free, but it is because someone has turned them into an object. Can that really be considered a good thing?
In other situations, good looking people are believed to be less intelligent and have trouble getting someone to deal with them on an level equivalent to their mental capacity - like you're stupid because you have a pretty face.

Heck yes that is true!!! I bet it happens often...working in the public for over 26 years, I have seen it on many occasions..ex: where I worked a long time ago....we had this dingy girl, lazy, unefficent, constantly bringing her drama to work, etc. she was a bleach blonde, not drop dead georgous, but cute, and the boss let her get away with everything!!!! she made better tips than the regular everyday girls who worked their tails off cause the pervy guys who thought they had a chance to get in her pants would tip her better.....hows that for an example...no it isn't fair, but unfortunately, the way it is sometimes...

It's a fact that pretty women get more assitance, and overall have benefits when interacting with others than people who are beauty-challenged. People respond better to beauty and more willingly, than to ugly people. Ever wonder why babies are cute? It's because that keeps the mothers from abandoning them, and also prevents other creatures from harming them. It's a survival advantage.

Thats not always true and there also a down side. Believe it or not some pretty women dont actually want the extra attention, unwanted remarks and favouritism can be very embarrassing when all you want to do is blend in with the crowd.
