Does anyone know the rules for house arrest? Who can visit? Can you work out of the county you're arrested in? Can you go anywhere?
Thanks

Where I live, the workhouse [ county jail ] sets up people on the EHM system [electronic home monitoring] They have several paper handouts to explain the limitations and make it very clear to the person on house arrest what their parameters are. Only your local authorities can give you reliable answers to the specific questions you have.

You can have visitors, but they cannot be convicted criminal or on parole. Depending on the constraints handed down by the sentence, you can still work outside the home, but you are only given a slot of time and if you aren't home, you will go to jail. You also must submit the route you take to and from work every day so that if you are caught anywhere else, you will be arrested. Above and beyond that, no, you cannot go anywhere. Not to the store, not to church NO WHERE. You do get a certain distance you can roam (i.e. your backyard) before the signal is sent to the police. You also get random phone calls and you will be give a device that scans you bracelet code into the the phone so they know you are home.

It depends on where you're from, what county.
Here, you must live AND work in the county where you are being detained. You may not leave the house unless for work, or unless you have a "pass". Here you aren't even allowed out into your yard to mow or anything. As for visitors- anyone really, the catch is that all of their things if they are inside the house are able to be lawfully searched- for example a womans purse, book bag etc.

can not see the point of abode arrest for crooks. we prefer to bang them up once captured, tried and convicted. To ease the overcrowding of our prisons we prefer to look heavily at permitting non-risky prisoners to take early launch on parole, interior which they might want to document to police each day. No excuses wide-spread, or you bypass again to penal complex, and so on. abode arrest is extra for VIP suspects not the easy criminal ingredient interior society. very last abode arrest i will imagine of develop into Augusto Pinochet. He develop into visited by employing all his pals inclusive of woman 'T'. the objective of the abode arrest develop into to provide up the Spanish extraditing him for trial. ok, so he develop into meant to be a nasty guy. yet, without his help the SAS don't have had a base from which to attack Argentine troops on the Falklands.
