How can the Pastor take you to a place he's never been and how do you propose he take care of his family when he dedicates all his time to Pastoring and mentoring people like you.People like you make me sick, don't you want to become rich too or are you contented with your mediocre lifestyle of struggling with your bills???If you were half as smart and not so envious at someone else's success you could have learnt his/her principles of wealth and do likewise!!!! Those who wish to be wealthy learn from those who have done so that is why the rich gets richer and the poor get poorer because they are against someone else's wealth you cannot gain what you're against!!!

Yes, I think it's very wrong for pastors to be rich. I once attended a membership class in a large church and the pastor's assistant said, "Don't ask us how much money we make and we won't ask you". It was obvious they were very wealthy. I agree, the best is the Catholic priests who take a vow of poverty.

Hi!
Please do not let misconceptions in some of the answers mislead you...
God chooses to bless financially who ever He wants to bless...
God speaks to people's heart to give to the man of God...
I am not a full time pastor, I earn a salary through my engineering work but I found people who earn less money than I do, forcefully give me money in appreciation because I have prayed for them and God gave them breakthroughs...
I teach about God's principle of giving with a willing heart at the same time...you reap according to how much you have sown...We can't not teach what the Word of God says about giving:
2Cor 9:7 "Each one must give as he has made up his mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver"
Some pastors become rich because they are have their own businesses that bring in money...and they started those businesses before they were called to be pastors.
Some pastors have backslid in the Lord and are after money and no longer after saving souls and advancing the Kingdom of God
Some pastors are pastors just because they call themselves "PASTORS" but God never called them for that ministry...The bible describes them "wolves in sheep skin"...such pastors deceive those who do not live for Christ or are living double lives or Christians who live carnal, worldly lives.
Some pastors indeed defraud money out of people's pockets...but such pastors are usually quickly identified and end up being neglected in their churches...
There are many things out there, be vigilant, stay in Christ and give cheerfully.
Recently one guy gave me money and I firstly refused to take it and he still nsisted I take it...

Because he's not truly a man of God...Jesus didn't need riches...a true pastor accepts the fact that his riches are not of this earth but in Heaven and is ok about it...

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is great gain.
-1Timothy 6:5-6
Jeremiah 23:1-4
There are tons of Scripture that deal with just this issue, and it we were warned thousands of years ago, so why does the Bible warn us, so that we can be smart, and be on the lookout for "false prophets" who fleece the flock..
The stupid ones are actually the flock...(I am a Christian BTW)

the mayority of the pastors in their churches gain money for what they teach, which it doesn't supposed to be that way...Jesus said that if you receive free something, you should give free of charge also.....But that's wrong.....They should help the poor, and the lame, not take away their money.....God doesn't approves their deeds.....

The bible says we are to be bondservants of Christ. And it talks about the dangers of love of money--it is the root of all evil.
Rich preachers, and multimillionaire televangelists, are a disgrace to the body of Christ.
I'm belong to a faith where the priest take a vow of poverty.
