Why do people continue to believe that the Bible was told to men so they might write it down?
There is proof that the Bible is not accurate let alone true. It has been changed so many times by the ones who translate it.
I am not here to BASH the Bible but to question the validity of it. Using it to help you live a better life, if that is what you need, is fine but why tell others it is a Truthful book with no mistakes or contradictions. Why can you not see what is true and what is fiction? There is proof and yet some choose not to believe it or even read it. WHY?

williamr: I just asked you why you would believe the Bible when there is proof that it is just stories written by man, man for pity sake. Satan is one of the stories in the Bible that was written by MAN.
Why don't you get it, I don't understand how you can use the Bible to answer a question about the validity of the Bible. HOW?

PaulS: I am not concerned about it just curious why people believe in it, haven't you ever been curious about anything?

Williamzo: I am not questioning the fact that the Bible was written or that there is proof of manuscrips to prove that. I question that the persons who wrote it really actually heard a God tell them to write down what they did. When there is proof that some of these stories were written ages before they were ever born. I know that they have proof of the manuscripts, they don't have proof that what they wrote was really told by a GOD of any kind.

Gary: Why is it that when a Christian asks a question of an Atheists it is a good question and when an Atheists or Agnostic asks a question it is a stupid one?
Who is really stupid, me for doing research or you for just going along with the crowd? And is that any way for a Christian to speak? You think your God doesn't want us to ask honest intelligent questions? He gave us the brain in which to think of the questions so why can't we ask them?

ElmerR: Now finally someone who understands why I don't go to church either. Don't ask me to just believe and not think because that will tick me off big time. Maybe if those people with Jim Jones had asked instead of believing they would still be alive.

Big B: If that is the case then why do we have so many different versions, NIV, AS, etc, there are many and they all have the wording differently.

wolfy1: Then prove it without using the Bible to answer the question. Prove it, that's all I am asking. And like I told the other person, I have just as much right to question things as you do to tell me you believe without questioning.

vesna s: I don't dispute the Bible being the most read book in the world. Not a bit and the reason why is that people like you and other Christians continue to give your money to the churches so they can continue to keep the lies going. I don't need a book to tell me that I am a good person and I don't need a book to tell me what is going to happen in the world. Even Nostradamous has been proved to be wrong in his so called quatrains of future premonition. There are lots of contradictions in the Bible and other people on this web site have sites that show you verse for verse if necessary. I can read just about anything into any verse of the Bible if I wanted to. And so could many other people.

vesna s: When you submit an answer like yours you only show others that you can clip and copy information really well. Have you even read the web site information I gave or any other information written by NON Christians? When a Christian answers a question they only quote the Bible and that doesn't count as an answer to a question about the VALIDITY of the Bible.

This is interesting, I'll read more when I have some spare time..I agree with you and it's time more people took the time to investigate what the Bible really is and how it came about before slavishly putting it's injuctures into practice.

I don't think a lot of religious folk have ever considered where the bible really came from, they are told it's the wrod of God and they never investigate further.

The 'documentary hypothesis' of Wellhausen has been disproved many times, and yet people continue to teach it. There is no evidence of a J ,E, D, and P document, and Bible "scholars" can't even agree among themselves as to which verse supposedly came from which document.

The Bible has never been changed (see my question at http://tinyurl.com/gtu8k). It says what it always has.

If you can find any mistake or contradiction, let me know. If so, then it isn't from God, and shouldn't be our guide for life. If some men came up with it, then why can't other men come up with something just as good? Everybody can just do what seems right to him (Judges 21:25).

On the other hand, if it is from God, then we need to do what is says, for it will be the standard by which we are judged (John 12:48).

So someone decide again to try and defile the Holy word of God what's new. We as christians know that the Bible is the breathed wors of God that He ispired certain people to write to have the full story. We know that there are no changes and it is the same as it always was. I am truly sorry for those who are continually trying to undermine the Bile and chritianity. I praay for thos who like to do this. That site is man written not God inspired. and He still loves you

I'd think that we wouldn't need information like that to conclude that the Bible is false. It's false on its very face: it claims that a conscious being created the universe in seven days, largely in its current form. It claims that people live after they've died. It claims that there were people who lived for hundreds of years, and that one guy built a boat that held two of every animal.

Why in the world should we be concerned about miniscule contradictions and mistranslations when the whole thing is so obviously a myth?

The last time I went to church, the pastor said "I'm tired of people telling me the Bible doesn't make sense. You don't have to understand the Bible, you only have to believe it and have faith."

Crazy.

That's why it was the last time I went to church.

Jesus believed it was the Word of God and said The Word of God "cannot be broken".

Judge for yourself if we should believe Him or.... your dumb opinion.

I have to laugh at the foolish people here that are always trying to prove to us who have studied the Bible for 30 years that it isn't true . It is always the ones that are most ignorant of what it says....usually haven't even read it!

It is absolutely hilarious to watch the clueless in their vain attempt to remove the authority of Scripture....
