I'm sorry that you had such an unpleasant experience with NJ Transit. I used to take the NJ Transit bus to and from Port Authority everyday but had never encountered such a rude driver. I think she should have felt bad for being impolite to you. Don't be affected by those negative people. Don't let them ruin your day. They're called losers because they end up making others and themselves unhappy.

What the hell is everyone's problem with The Garden State??! Try visiting the rest of the state before judging it for the metro Newark/Jersey City area please!!
Now to answer your question.....
I would say that having to deal with the same questions day in and day out would cause anyone to become rude and surly after a while. Dealing with the public can be difficult and after a while they probably stop caring as much as they should. That still does not make their actions right. Hope this helps.

Sometimes people get sick of answering questions that they think everyone should know. I would report it to the supervisor and keep reporting it, maybe they will change their attitude. I get that way dealing with people sometimes, if I am continuously harassed all day, and I am usually the nicest most patient person, but some days I want to strangle the next person that walks into my office. I guess everyone is entitled to a bad day, but if they keep having them then I would report it. Sometimes a lot of people overlook the fact they are doing a job, adn do not even say thank you when they get off. I know it seems tacky, but every once in a while, people need to feel appreciated for their jobs. Try it one tiem and see if they don't at least smile or acknowledge you cared enough to thank them for the ride, you may get a smile out of them. If not you will feel better.

I was on the train from Hamilton, NJ to NYC last week. Yeah, those conductors are nasty and rude.
Maybe they don't paid a lot or they just get sick of answering the same questions all day.
I wouldn't want to be a train conductor.

Welcome to the worldwide of "Seniority." Jobs (runs, assignments, turns, vehicles... notwithstanding they may be called) are open for people who've sufficient seniority to hold the job. some are better than others, and a few positions pay better than others or are in any different case better, consisting of often working during photograph voltaic hours or weekends off. those jobs are marketed, "for bid." it works the comparable as an public sale, in basic terms your seniority variety is your forex, no longer the dollar. If 2 or extra workers who bid on a job gain this, the single with the backside seniority variety (extra senior) gets the job. on a similar time as jobs are open for bid for that week, the extra-board human beings fill the emptiness. in the adventure that your bid is useful, then the job emptiness created via "bidding off" will open for bid contained in the subsequent week. whilst a job is abolished, the worker displaced now has a "bump." this suggests he can displace a junior worker off of yet another place. THAT individual would then have a bump to a different junior guy, and so on, till the ball stops rolling. Your acquaintance substitute into displaced via a senior worker who lost his place via no fault of his very own, giving him a bump, the two by using abolishment of an task or being bumped himself. there is likewise a "trip bump." Jobs marketed for bid are open for a week till now being provided. in case you have been on trip for 3 weeks (via way of occasion) and a job substitute into positioned up for bid and provided during your absence, then whilst getting back from trip, any job that variety into provided during your absence to a junior guy, this can provide a precise to bump that individual. to boot, those very undesirable jobs that pass "no bid" (ie., no person bid on the placement attributable to it being a crummy job task) can effect contained in the main junior guy on the extra-board getting "tension assigned" to the job. only 1 extra way low seniority works against you. Then there is the "carry down." it relatively is generally a emptiness created via the owner of the job being on trip. After 3 days, a individual can exercising his seniority and place a momentary carry down on the job. those human beings may be bumped via a extra senior worker at any time (alongside without 'stay bump'), till the guy who often holds the job returns from absence. complicated, hunh? then back, in case you have have been given some seniority and you pay interest and have a sharp pencil, you could maximize your opportunties, and subsequently income or smash day, from the job buying capability of your seniority variety.
