Beans on Wholemeal toast, drizzled with marmite. Perfect brain food.
Complex carbs in bread, protein in beans, and B vitamins in Marmite. There have been scientific tests conducted where people have performed better in exams after eating the above breakfast.
Extract from New Scientist Magazine:
But it isn't simply a matter of getting some calories down. According to research published in 2003, kids breakfasting on fizzy drinks and sugary snacks performed at the level of an average 70-year-old in tests of memory and attention. Beans on toast is a far better combination, as Barbara Stewart from the University of Ulster, UK, discovered. Toast alone boosted children's scores on a variety of cognitive tests, but when the tests got tougher, the breakfast with the high-protein beans worked best. Beans are also a good source of fibre, and other research has shown a link between a high-fibre diet and improved cognition. If you can't stomach beans before midday, wholemeal toast with Marmite makes a great alternative. The yeast extract is packed with B vitamins, whose brain-boosting powers have been demonstrated in many studies.

The search ends at the doorstep of a house where they make a good homemade breakfast. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, toast and Orange Juice. Maybe some fresh fruit and waffles.

The search for the perfect breakfast ends at lunch.
If you found the "perfect" breakfast, don't you think you'd grow tired of it every day? I say keep looking, keep going to new places, and eat what the locals eat.
My all-time favorite breakfast (so far in life) is at Pasquale's in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Yumaroonie!!!

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've done cereal, I've done yogurt with nutri grain bars, I've done waffles, pancakes, and english muffins. None of it is all that great.
I'm thinking about trying bagels. I think eating carbs is good first thing in the morning.
I've tried doing fruit but it makes me a bit queasy so hopefully I figure it out soon!!

Well since ive been home I would have to vote for moms raisin bran muffins (made with applesauce to replace most of the required oil) or her homemade whole wheat bread with butter and honey. Better yet beniets (fryed dough, like dounuts but not exactly) and coffee. My mother can make them incredibly well but I recomend cafe du monde on Decature....and dont forget the Cafe au lautte
