Is it just me, or are tollbooth agents just mean? I pass through the tollbooth every morning, (5 days a week) and I always say Good Morning! But the agents never speak back...they just look at me like I didnt say anything at all. How rude?

Tollbooth agents will exchange pleasantries with you in MD, DE and even NJ. This may not apply to everyone - the evening and late night shifts tend to be nicer due to the lack of traffic.

I pretty much get the same reaction during busy times... though once in a while I get some positive response. I think they are just bored and after a while zone out... plus that would be a lot of 'good mornings' back during the AM commute... talk about laryngitis at the end of the day! *wink*

State workers with an attitude !
I have seen plenty myself - they make good money for sitting on their as-ses all day and they think they don't have to serve the public.
All got their jobs through relatives and friends of politicians so they never had to work for a living.

I'd have to agree with the above. I wonder what it's like to work that job? It's sad but I bet they will all be replaced be mechanical systems within 5 years.
