when it's "shall we say" retained? I'm talking in the long term. Several farts saved in succession. Providing they aren't reabsorbed, could they be hooked up to a small hose, which runs to an engine? Like say to power a blender or other kitchen applience? Would this be dangerouos, as in possibly causing an explosion? What saftey precautions could one take? Could this gas be sold back to the power company? And, what about neighborhood gas? Would that be a possability?

They just pass in the atmosphere causing global warming and why the artic ice is melting and creating a new industry by scaring everyone to thinking the ice caps are melting and the ocean will rise and the continents will be reshaped in your lifetime. So don't by any seacoast property.

Well this is a good question....lol.... Anyway I think I can help answer.....
First of all consider this, is it the best of interest of the people to recycle their fart? Lets not forget the controversial uproar the heartlanders made here pertaining "New Water".
Also as for it being dangerous, I hardly thing it poses a threat..... Well its because when diffusion takes place, it spreads the out wider and wider and the wider it gets the less molecules there are left, and which also means little concentration of the substance. So I do not think that any safety precautions should be taken.
As for the last two questions, well dude, no one knows what the future holds....who knows one day we might have to reclaim air, just like right now we reclaim land.

When you retain several farts "long-term", the gases are resorbed through your colonic mucosa and dissolved into your bloodstream, which carries them to your head. The molecules of fartgas are small enough to cross the blood-brain barrier, and so they make you a s h i t head, which is obviously the case with you since you are asking this question.
2 AFTERTHOUGHTS:
(a) How do you plan to retain your flatus for the "long term?" In other words, how do you plan to defecate without expelling flatus. Not possible, unless you have a VERY educated anus.
(b) Still, I think you let your f arts go. That's because one cow produces roughly 65 liters of intestinal gas a day, a good deal of it methane. It's been calculated that if we only stopped eating beef, we could keep all our cars and yet meet our global warming goals-simply by eliminating the cows. So your humble gastrointestinal apparatus is no match for the cow.
Oh, BTW, you are not a COW writing this, are you?

A fart disipates in the air, as with most gases. The way gases work is that they fill the entire space available to them. They will spread out literally to the farthest corners of a room in an orderly fashion, until they meaure almost exactly the same parts per million in every available square inch.
When you smell a fart and then you don't, it's not because it is not still there. It is because it has reached a threshold where you can no longer detect it.
Another interesting fact is that when you smell a turd, it is because molecules of that material have reached your olfactory senses and lodged in there.
