The Pope is still a human being (albeit either an incredibly manipulative, misguided, or naive one) -- and one person's death still diminishes us all...

Besides which, it wouldn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things. The Pope is not like the "Lost Boys" Head Vampire -- kill him, and the entire Catholic Church would wither and die. They've got plenty of contingency plans and other folks to fill his spot.

Now, if the Pope were to publicly (and voluntarily) renounce his faith and criticize the church for the hypocritical nonsense it truly is on worldwide television....now THAT would put a big ol' smile on my face....

Well, I wouldn't wish that on many people, so no.

But yes, the Pope is a lying little moron, isn't he? Phew. That speech he gave two days ago was so full of pathetic BS...

Oh, I like the answer that Bonzo and Soleil gave. Yup, it'd be a great day if the Pope were to decide to stop preaching that idiocy and join the modern world.

I'm not happy with any loss of life, but with the track record the catholic church has over the centuries, I can't see why the Vatican is still relevant. If you look at the crusades ,inquisitions, the stake burnings, intimidating scholars who knew the earth was not the center of the solar system, the rape and pillage of the New World, all this in the name of God. What would God say?
Not to even mention the complicit relationship with Nazi Germany or the rape of young boys and the ensuing cover-up.

I can't believe the western world has any respect for the Vatican. I sure don't.

It would be a happier week if the pope announced he had suddenly seen the light and found sanity by proclaiming he now realizes that god is just a man-made invention and religion a complete delusion.

Your stupid question just made my day turn bad...Why would you want to hit an old man with a truck??

I think we be better off if you were hit by a truck or train.

Harsh!

Not a big fan of the Pope... anyone who discourages the use of condoms in AIDS-ravaged countries where babies starve to death seems immoral to me - but I'm not readyto be gleeful at his death. I even felt guilty for feeling a mild sense of satisfaction when saddam's sons were killed, even thought they were assholes.

Your daddy would be happier if he shot his load down the toilet, instead of ending up with his worthless son.

Man o man,

What has the Pope done to you?

Or are you just venting?

Peace!

No moral person would take joy or happiness in the death of another.

No one should be gleeful in someones demise. Pity perhaps but never happy.
