Yes its bad,
When we wre kids our parents used to tell us.. One reason they gave was.. that the food you eat is hot/ warm.. and water.. is cold.. so we might get sick.. and body immunity decreases..
second reason..
they gave was thatthe saliva in the mouth starts digesting the food before it reaches the stomach.. so stomach doesn't have to produce so much acids.... but downing ur food with water.. prevents too much secretion of saliva.. while eating and hence the stomach produces more acids to digest.. which is not good for the stomach lining and causes ulcers..

Now that I am dealing with some infertility issues.. i read an article which said that the saliva in the mouth.. helps decrease ur acidity.. and produces a better environmentin the womb.. for fertilization to take place.. and downing the water while eating.. makes a women more acidic and affects her ferlility..
So hope these three reasons are enough to think twice before you chug that glass down while eating ur food..
Bu t few sips..2-3 are ok.. if ur are very thisty..

The rule of thumb..is don't drink water 30min before or after u take ur meals

well sometimes it's good but when eating big meals yes it's very good because the water takes some room in your stomach so you don't really fill up on alot of food much! thats just for weight loss! But if your not looking to loose weight you can wait until after you eat to drink some water! In the morning before you eat drink some water with a little lemon juice (no sugar). That will help cut the fat in whatever you ate the night before and help with cleaning the blood also!

Absolutely not! Drinking water with your meals is fine. Whoever told you such or where ever you read that is an idiot. Plain and simple.

Drinking water with your meals DOES NOT make you constipated. It does the opposite by adding fluid to your foods to help them go through you quicker. It can have the opposite effect and give some people diarrhea. Granted, it does delute some of the nutrients as they're going down. But a nutrient is a nutrient. They're not going to be dissolved and completely dissappear from drinking a glass of water. They will still be there. So just have 1 glass with your meal and take a few sips every few bites.

Mixing hot and cold can be damaging to the liver, so if you're eating something hot, drink room temperature water. If you're eating something cold, then drink cold to room temperature water.

Want to keep the weight off? Drink water while you eat.

Want to absorb the nutrition from your food? Don't drink too much while you eat.

Drinking while you eat fills you up - yes so it helps in weight loss because you get full quicker. But it also stops alot of the nutrients being absorbed through your stomach wall, so nutrution can be lost.

Depends what you're trying to accomplish.

Drink a glass of water before you eat. Then you'll already be full. Then sip water throughout your meal.

Never heard that before but then again I don't hear everything. I heard that if you are deiting to drink a glass of warm water prior to meals helps give you that full feeling and that you will eat less.
