cuz ive been going like a bandit over the past few days. first we thought it was stuffed peppers and that i have ibs, thats possible, but im wondering if tea is bad too.

yeah its hot, herbal tea, usually mint medley or i love lemon... with a packet of sugar... i usually have 1 cup a day, in the morning.

it can be if it is a herbal tea, like senna, or something....

Tea or anything with caffeine for that matter is a diuretic. Anything like that will make you go to the bathroom more often than if you drank something without caffeine. I do that too so I drink the decaf tea. Tastes the same to me.

It's the caffine. It's listed in this link along with other foods/products. That's why when people have their coffee in the morning, not only the coffee, but the caffine as well, help them go. It's worse though for people with IBS.

It also recommends a change in diet and exercise. Perhaps you should try one or both of those?

Not a laxative as such but in large quantities (and I do mean large, say in excess of 15-20 cups a day) it can act as a dierhetic (similar end effect as a laxative).

any hot liquid get's the gut going. especially if oyu take sugar as that will use the sucros to stimulate the muscles around the bowel. works a treat for me..!

dieter's tea is a laxative. It cleans you out and flattens your tummy

yes it acts like a laxative because there is caffine, like coffee.

i'm pretty sure that anything with a high amt of caffiene can act as a laxative if you consume high amts of it.
