Some people never took the time out to learn how to cook, so they took the safe way out and eat junk instead of learning how to cook. They could just go to their Mama's house or to a friends house and let them cook (and put in for the food). On the other hand some people are just lazy.

I know a lot of people that hate to cook. They eat out most of the time. I think it has to do with laziness and people that have kids have hectic schedules and don't have time to cook. It's easier for them to run through McDonald's. That's one reason there are so many over weight kids. I make time to cook. It is too expensive to eat out all the time, especially with five kids. It's important to sit down together as a family for meals.

It is much easier to pick up some fast food than cook at home. But I broke myself of that habit. I love to cook at home. Therefore, I try to limit my fast food intake to about once a month to help keep the waistline in check. One thing is I have given up on french fries. Good but it is just too fattening.

A lot of them didn't acquire the skills when living at home. Then, when it was time to go to high school, in dreams of college, unless you plan on being the next Martha Stewart...you opt for AP courses instead of Home Ec...so again, the knowledge is lost.

Then, when you do decide you need to learn how to cook, you go for microwaveable, mindless food. It's tasty enough to live on...right?

Myself, I am a home cook. Once or twice a month we go out, but other than that, we eat at home, on food fixed at home, from scratch.

I can't imagine it any other way.

They claim not to have the time ,because of work or some other reason .Maybe watching the soaps or shopping to long .Kids can benefit from parent cooking while kids do home work on kitchen table.
