Absolutely! It's never too late to start. You just have to make sure you use positive reinforcement, have lots of patience, and be consistent.

At 7 months you still have a very young dog and she can be trained.
It may not be easy but with some feffort and time on your part she can be trained for just about anything you would like her to do.
Get into a training class and get started.
I work with dogs as old as 10 years and they can learn new stuff so your girl sure can.
Good luck.

Not too late at all. Be kind and consistant and show her lot's of love. I have rotties and one of them came to me at 5 yrs. old. She had been treated well where she lived before and was very open to the way thing's are done it her new home. Very, very easy. Never hit your rottie, during training or at any other time or you'll have a cowered down or agressive dog.Rotties are sometimes stubborn and it may take more time than you think it should, but it's well worth it. I rescue all breed's of dog's and Rottweiller's have become my favorite, usually big happy clown's until you feel threatened, and then they are all business. When you train her make sure one of the first thing's you teach her is to stop whatever she's doing , you have to have total control. Good luck

Any dog under 2 years is sooo easy to train. Actually, seeing eye dogs don't even start their intensive training until they are a year old! Trust me, she is like a sponge right now, ready to absorb anything you teach her. Petco has informative, positive obedience classes which are very cheap and give your dog a good place to get some socialization with other dogs and people too. Socialization is the most important thing you need to concentrate on now, especially for a dog bred for protection. Good Luck!

In the old days, we didn't even start to train a dog until 6 months of age. A 7 month old pup is like having a 7 yr old child. They are very easy to train.

Certainly!!! That's perfect age.
7 months is still a puppy. Between 5-9 months is the best time to get a dog. Ive got an ancient airdale that was ignored in an outside pen all his life. He is playing ball with me now. Not doing much but he does like a good squeeky ball.
The last foster I kept was ten and Ive had her two years now and the only thing I can't teach her is to come in the house. She is fine in the summer but the colder the better and she wants to stay out. She still gets pissy with new fosters but will calm down after a few days and doesn't try to immediately eat them.

Yes any dog can be trained. And she is at a good age to start. With older dogs it takes longer some times.

It's never too late to start training. It may take a bit longer to reform behavior patterns she has grown accustomed to, but you can do it if your patient and consistent.
That old addage "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" was written by someone too lazy to put in the effort.

Yes. You have to do it on a daily basis. If you walk her for at least 30 min before you start the training, she will be more receptive. This has been what has worked for me with my young, hyper dogs.

Yes.... training for all dogs begins at an early age with the mom. But leave the other training to the professionals who will work with YOU and your dog!!
