I was thinking of sucking excess oil from them with paper towel then blending it with milk till smooth then add cream / seafood / spices etc... Has anyone done similar things?

go for it! But I'd put them into a blender afterward, before attempting to make them into something else. Adding them to a soup is good.. as potatoes will help thicken the soup..
If you have a huge amount of french fries, and after blending them, try potatoe fritters - or simply fry them up with a bit of onion..
left overs are just that - left over.. I see no reason why you can't use them in another way..
Using left overs has been a way of life in years past.. and being creative with them can sometimes be a challenge .

truthfully lentil soup. i appreciate lentils. Lentils with greens make an staggering soup. I infrequently devour fish or clam chowder, yet when I did, i might want to pick the white New England Clam Chowder with potatoes & perhaps carrots & peas, fairly than the ny Clam Chowder with tomato broth. I the picture of it better. to each and every, his or her personal. i'm vegetarian, so i do not favor something with rooster, so i will leave the rooster noodle soup for you.

Of course it's fine. The potato when blended becomes a thickening agent in soups or stews. And when combined with other ingredients, you never know it's leftover anything. Enjoy!

I have never heard of french fries in clam chowder. i will say u can use the F.f for several other dishes - cut them short take corned beef mix together when beef gets crispy u can crack an egg or two on top - i like to take leftover beef or pork roast spread on top of f.f top with cheese and use blue cheese or ranch or what salad dressing you like .

Definitely. You can puree them or dice them. I would recommend puree b/c they wont be crunchy in your soup, but you can make any soup that has otatoes in it. My favorite would be beef vegetable or seafood bisque, but also try a loaded baked potato soup. mmmmmm. They are also great for hash browns once diced and re-fried. Try mixing them w/ a can or corned beef to make some delicious corned beef hash.
